Americans, by a large 30-point margin, are resistant to re-opening the country now, believing the risk to human life of opening the country outweighs the economic toll of remaining under restrictive lockdowns -- a concern that starkly divides along partisan lines, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos released Friday.
In the new poll, conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos’ Knowledge Panel, nearly two-thirds of Americans said they more closely align with the view that opening the county now is not advantageous since it will result in a higher death toll, while slightly more than one-third agree with the belief that an immediate reopening is beneficial to minimize the negative impact on the economy.
But those attitudes show deep partisan divisions, with only 6% of Democrats, compared to 65% of Republicans, siding with the viewpoint of opening the country now to salvage the economy.
An overwhelming 92% of Democrats and only 35% of Republicans oppose an immediate re-opening, citing the effect of the deadly virus. Independents trace the outlook of the country, with 36% supporting opening up the country now, and 63% opposing such a move.
Sill, when asked about the likelihood of agreeing to get a safe and effective vaccine, the new survey shows some skepticism about being inoculated. One-quarter of Americans said they were not likely to get vaccinated, even if a safe and effective vaccine was developed. About three-quarters said they would likely get the immunization.

I’m with you. I’m not taking “Version 1.0” of anything.
Every time I had the flu shot while in the military, I always ended up sick. Even had Pneumonia one time. After getting out, nothing, with only an occasional sinus infection due to allergies when the pollen was out in force.
Back around 2008, I got a flu shot as I was starting to travel to China. Within a week, had to spend a couple of days in bed. Next year, no flu shot, but I did catch a dose of the flu while in China. Grabbed some Chinese herbal remedies and good to go in about 24 hours (I typically spent two weeks at a time in China visiting various facilities, about 5-6 times a year). No Covid vaccine for me.
Once it looks like a reasonable solution, I’ll get the vaccine. The only reason we’re so freaked out about this covid stuff is that we forget other diseases for which we now have vaccines: viral diseases such as measles, mumps, polio, and bacterial disease such as whooping cough and diphtheria.
And if the viral diseases didn’t manage to kill you, they left awful after-effects, especially in children: deafness, blindness, sterility, paralysis. All gone now because of vaccinations.
Vaccines are good. Being chipped by your government is seriously bad.
Another important element involved in the mandated vaxxing is the Contact Tracing - CDC has the protocol ready to go. It reads like a cut&paste from Fauci/Birx HIV crimes against Humanity. IT’s as if we ALL have or are carriers of HIV+Bubonic PLague.

I'm with you. I also get an annual flu shot (I'm in my 60's); but, I won't be first in line for this. I will wait and see how it does in the population before I partake.
Safe Vaccination? No such thing. See Dr Markovits videos. They are made with aborted fetal tissue. Babies have to die for vaccine production.
Am I the only one who wishes there were Covid lollipops or Covid cookies?
Right now, if you get the virus, you may be contagious prior to having symptoms and spread it to others, possibly your family, you’ll have no control as to when and it will be disruptive. If you’re healthy, chances are it’ll be a bad cold but you’ll be out of work for a couple of weeks.
I’d rather have some control, wrap some things up at work, plan on two weeks home isolated and get the virus on my terms. At least I’d be in control and could minimize infecting others. Plus I’d be done and over with it and presumably immune and non-contagious afterwards.
Far better option IMHO than living as if the Black Death is upon us.

My cousin is a highly intelligent, very well educated woman of 67 years, but she believes everything the MSM says about Trump and the surrounding issue. She had a good education at a fairly conservative university in the early 70’s, in the hard sciences. Her attitude results from her adoration of her dearly departed father, who was an old fashioned democrat. He was a brilliant guy, and she hung on his every word. Some day, when she’s in a nostalgic frame of mind, I’ll point out to her that her dad would most likely have embraced Trump, for all the good he has done, because he was also a very logical man. But right now, her biology background makes her TERRIFIED of Covid19.

On “Varney” this morning the millennial chick who’s a regular was reporting on this. Varney hinted that he wouldn’t take it, either. Millennial girl was AGHAST! Really. She was making weird noises and everything.
I’m not big on the annual flu shot and more or less take my chances, but one immunization/vaccination I urge my friends and loved ones to get is the shingles shot plus booster. No one reading this wants shingles, it’s that bad.
I wouldn’t be the first in line to get it...

That’s been the case in the past. Who knows what laws, policies, etc., will be instituted for the future? There could come a time when refusal is not an option.
