I obviously am really into politics, I was the Editor of my High School Newspaper. But the watershed moment came for me when I was in College in 2007 and I was taking a History Class.
The subject at the moment was American History and the Progressive Era.
We watched an old VHS tape, talking about the Media and how FDR got elected.
One of those old farts spoke about how PROUD he was that the media kept the fact that Roosevelt was in a wheelchair from the American People. He called that their (Him and his fellow reporters) greatest moment.
The media shamelessly ran interference for people they approve of and want to be in power.
Sadly I can't remember the name of that program (it was from the late 70's early 80's) or the Reporter they interview.
I never looked at Journalism the same way again.
I became very suspicious of the news media during my high school years, but the process started when I was in Junior High.
