I was wondering the same thing. If you lock people away for an extended period of time, I'd think the strength of their immune systems would drop. I don't know that for sure, but it's something I've wondered.
I've thought about the adage that allowing kids to get dirty helps them develop stronger immune systems. While keeping things constantly sterile leads to weakened natural immunity and increased susceptibility to disease.

immune systems are very much weakened when confined I was thinking the folks going out are getting micro-exposures and are building defenses, when those that are staying in have virgin immune systems and need a smaller viral load to go over the edge.
