It doesnt come as a shock but it is ridiculous in the extreme. A Dallas County Texas salon owner has been sentenced to a week in jail for defying the order to keep her business closed. I couldnt feed my family and my stylists couldnt feed their families Ms. Shelly Luther testified. The court didnt care.
The stakes are escalating daily as economic desperation takes over and the oppressive hand of the authoritarian government officials refuse to loosen their grip on their new found power over the population. Confrontation is likely to get much worse quickly.
TEXAS A Dallas salon owner will spend a week in jail after she was found in contempt of court Tuesday for violating a court order to close her salon during the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to the jail time, Shelley Luther was fined at least $3,500 for continuing to operate her business, Salon à la Mode, in violation of a temporary restraining order issued against the business.
Like other businesses deemed nonessential, Luthers Far North Dallas salon was forced to close March 22 after Dallas County enacted its stay-at-home order. She reopened the salon on April 24 despite that order, and tore up a cease-and-desist letter from Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins at a demonstration the following day.

That ain’t going to happen. Too many rats versus Patriots. Many were glad she was incarcerated. They were disappointed that she and the others were not shot down like the husband and wife on Harding Street in Huston. After all they defied the Massa. That cannot be tolerated.
Texas isn’t what it used to be.
Texas doesn’t even allow Constitutional Carry.
They also will give you a Moving Violation Ticket if you don’t have a Front License Plate on your Car. Having owned a Corvette that is big one for me. LOL
Texas gave us Beatoff the Irish Mexican, the RINO Bush Clan and they did Elect Ann Richards as their Governor a couple of times long before the Commiefornians moved in.
Dallas and Houston are turning into Austin. Well, Houston is already there...
My friends who live there still give me hope though.
Never say never - the Colonists never thought there would be a Revolution - that was until the Boston Massacre. Today is no different, this nation is currently a powderkeg waiting for the spark............
Just like any progressive disease such as cancer, Progressivism has invaded Texas and will eventually kill the host. It appears the only way to stop the spread of this disease to eradicate these “Progressive” cells and to maintain a constant vigil so that the disease does not return in another part of the host. Time is very short as the clock continues its countdown to death by tyranny.
Believe there was racism involved? Black judge, white lady. Yes? No?
Doesn’t matter if you and your family die. Just don’t ever defy your government! Remember, you are a sheep and you must submit! You must do as they say, even if it means you don’t feed your family.
So the fascists in government are gloating at how they are destroying the family.
I have no words that I can put in print.
She will win everything on the appeal. There was no passage of the edicts.
So she will not pay the $7,000 or go to jail for a week.
Well, if she’s somehow already in the clink, her appeal will follow with a lawsuit.
She’ll win both.
“So this Dallas judge just HAD to follow the law and jail her.”
According to Judge Napolitano (surprisingly on the right side of this issue), the judge didn’t jail her for having the salon open; that wasn’t his issue.
How I understood him, Judge jailed her because she defied him when she wouldn’t admit that she’s a selfish person. (It’s against Judicial ethics for him to comment on her morals.)
Probably not directly. The judge isn’t really the problem, though a black defendant might have been let off the hook. There’s nothing that indicates racism, though shutting down small businesses mostly means shutting down white people.
Feed her family? Help her employees feed their family? Naw... meanwhile - the parking lot at Lowes this weekend looked like a Black Friday sale was on. Walmart has been busy as hell too. The liquor store has been trying to keep up since the bars closed. A family friend with a family business of over 40 years was ordered to shut down.
Give me a damn break.
I pray for those who have suffered and died due to the Chinese Flu. I pray for everyone affected by it. Right now, it’s time to take a look projections vs. realities. Those at high risk or worried - put a mask on, stay home, quarantine, etc. do what you must to protect yourself. Otherwise, at least in my DFW point of view... time to return to normal.
Yup. Everyone trying to make this a partizan thing are wearing blinders. The entire government has gone feral.
Thanks for the ping.

Amazing point, well done. City Dallas will allow her to steal, but not allow her to be self sufficient and contributing to the betterment of the families depending on this business.
Over $280k, new goal set at $500k.
Husband and wife shot on Harding St in Houston?
It was a no-knock drug raid that went south because the detective was either lying about his “confidential informant” or the CI was non-existent. Either way the cops involved need to fry over that one.
Once again - nothing more than words on the part of Governor Abbott and Attorney General Paxton - words when either of them can outright ORDER her immediate release (or if need be send in the Texas Rangers or TX National Guard to forcibly liberate her).
