S’all right Debbie, it’s only a few trillion dollars and the proles will be forced to pay it back for the next 200 years.
Don’t lose any sleep over it, the patient died, who could blame you?
In other words, she didnt have clue then. and she doesnt have a clue now
“How to make EVERYONE afraid of EVERYTHING; known & unknown”
In 10 Easy Steps...Dr. Birx aka “La Scarf”
so these ‘experts’ didn’t know from past flues that many many folks would be asymptomatic?
Sorry Doc but that doesn’t instill much confidence in you- Every year we have many folks who get the flu but show no signs of it- or very few symptoms- some breeze through it, some get really sick -some die
How did this catch you all by surprise?
Because we had in December.
I’m beyond sick of listening to this twit! She’s utterly clueless, and we have her and Fauci to thank for our economy being in the crapper!
As an aside, I wish she would stop with the annoying VOCAL FRY!
So why should we believe anything you say now?
I can hear the Fearpers screeching as they cower in their basements.
All this incessant yakking... every year theres the flu scare and the only message is for the American public (Stepford Wives) to get a shot.
I really wish Trump would cut ties with these two nitwits already! If Birx and Fauci were on The Apprentice, they would’ve already had Trump tell them: “YOU’RE FIRED!”
Keep triangulating the granularity, Debs.
There were not only the asymptomatic cases — there were people who had symptoms but never visited the doctor, thinking it was just another flu bug, or not wanting to get quarantined. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
The CDC had no idea what was coming our way from China during January.
I speculate that they already knew that the Chinese had isolated Wuhan from the rest of China, but were allowing international flights in and out of Wuhan.
At that point the Chinese were lying and the W.H.O. were repeating their lies.
The medical community was very concerned about isolating cases and using the limited testing available to discriminate between Wuhan virus and normal flu’s and malady’s.
At the time, this was probably the correct call. Remember nobody knew if it was weaponized and if we were under a biological attack (which, in a way, we were).
I think a lesson to be learned is that they needed to carve out some statistical populations and perform more extensive testing which included those who did not have symptoms. That type of testing did not seem to start until April, which is kind of late.
The experts are still not stating whether asymptomatic patients are infectious. We need to know that more than just the numbers of asymptomatic cases. If asymptomatic cases are not as infectious, the lock down can be lifted much sooner.
Someone on this thread pointed out that even with lock down we are experiencing 1000 new cases per day. Actually, confirmed cases is one of the statistics which is easy to manipulate, if one so chooses.
Given that they know that a lot of previously undetected people had the virus, it is quite easy to crank up 1000 cases per day simply by testing previously asymptomatic cases. This is why hospitalizations are probably a better way to track the pandemic rather than “new cases”.
Now you tell us.
I figured that out many weeks ago, as could have anyone else who has a lick of common sense. If the death rate was really 3% like the panic-mongering fools were wailing, we would absolutely have hundreds of thousands if not millions of deaths by new. Think about it. Who but a few hypochondriacs, bothers going to the doctor for a minor cold? Most people don’t want to waste the time, and the increasingly hefty copayment, to be told to buy some damn Ny-Quil at Walmart. And 99% of those getting the ChiCom Beer Cold just experience a minor cold. So they never make it to the medical system to become a “case”. This makes the “cases” count insanely biased to those who actually have severe symptons. Severe enough to deal with the hassle of waiting behind half of the third world in urgent care to pay $100 in copayment to probably be told to take an aspirin and go away. As in “this is really bad, I NEED to see a doctor”. It heavily skews the actual numbers.
On top of that, I’ve had at least one family friend (good friend of my Mom) come down with suspicious symptoms, including a fever. They told her to not bother getting tested! They’re obviously doing this with lots of people.
Really, the numbers the sheeple are being given about this bug are crap. They are heavily biased toward worst case panic mongering, ignoring people for whom it turns out to be a nothingburger. It’s not that there isn’t an actual danger for older people or some people with other health conditions, but this is NOT the Spanish Influenza or Ebola.
All we needed to do is what Sweden is doing. Some social distancing and emphasis on good old fashioned flu/cold season hygiene and manners. Just enough to keep the bad cases from overrunning the emergency medical system in the hot spots. All else is disastrous overkill.
The bottom line is that there is no containing this common cold variant any more than any other common cold. It WILL run its course, quickly or slowly. So any notion of “eradicating” or “curing” this is just as fruitless as “curing the common cold”. Because this “is” a version of the cold.
Wonder what Dr Birx would say if she knew I don’t wear sunscreen?
No $hit
Lol, asymptomatic cases, ie. People who arent sick. Thank you, experts, andyour breathless coterie of followers here on FR.
And grossly overestimated the number of deaths, so the dead wood at the CDC failed miserably and should be fired for dereliction of duty.
