White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx told Fox News on Saturday night that the U.S. significantly underestimated the number of asymptomatic cases that existed of the coronavirus.
“I think we’re learning every day about the virus and how it interacts with us as human hosts. And that’s been very important to constantly be triangulating data,” Birx said. “I think we underestimated very early on the number of asymptomatic cases. And I think we’re really beginning to understand there are people that get infected that those symptoms are so low-grade that they don’t even know that they’re infected.”

Lol, “asymptomatic” cases, ie. People who aren’t sick. Thank you, “experts,” andyour breathless coterie of followers here on FR.
And grossly overestimated the number of deaths, so the dead wood at the CDC failed miserably and should be fired for dereliction of duty.
Better idea.
Keep them, and just get some second opinions.
A rational, scientific medical discussion among Fauci, Birx, and a few distinguished physicians and epidemiologists who differ would be enlightening for all.
Looks to me like exoneration for those of us who have gotten it right all along

I think both of them were surprised Trump agreed to the 15 and 30 day social distancing guidelines. Most presidents would not have done it, interesting Trump was the one who did. Trump has handled this perfectly.
This is true about most pathogens. A British university did an extensive study a while ago that showed that most people who had flu didn't know they had it; of the rest, only a small percentage sought medical help.
The Docs need to realize that the Anerican people were unbelievably cooperative with their request.

But as someone asked this morning on FR - do we even know if they are asymptomatic or are the tests flawed - a lot of their tests have been.
