White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday that data from a coronavirus drug trial testing Gilead Sciences’ antiviral drug remdesivir showed “quite good news.”
Speaking to reporters from the White House, Fauci said he was told data from the trial showed a “clear cut positive effect in diminishing time to recover.”
“This will be the standard of care,” Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, added.

Just a little suspicious that during Event 201 it was an HIV antiviral that would be used. During this pandemic, They have discredited HCQ that independent drs have good results with and it’s cheap. Today Fauci say this new HIV drug will be the standard of care.
Results from the HDC tests in NY? Crickets!

Count me as skeptical. The mortality rate in the double blind NIH study was 8% with remdesivir and 11% with the placebo. That is not a statistically significant improvement.
Hospitalization was 11 days vs 15 days with placebo. Yes better, but not a wonder drug.
This HIV drug is intravenously administered the hydro is a pill I believe the results with both are equal I also believe doctors know that one is no better than the ther regardless of what the hell Fauci says if one is less expensive and easier to administer doctors will go with what is best for their patients!!
I’ve given Fauci the benefit of the doubt to quite an extent but this stinks like a week old dead fish.

A link with more detail about study. I think it said 50% success rate. Isn’t HCQ success rate much higher??
With hydroxychloroquine, we needed large, Phase III, controlled studies, and we couldn't interpret any anecdotal evidence of a drug that has been around for decades. As none of those studies has completed or published results, HCQ is still shunned by Fauci and his ilk.
I have no personal issues with Gilead or remdesvir, but it sure seems the bar is set much lower. Fauci wants to make this drug the SOC based on a single, open study with no control group.
I'm sure that some reporter whose educated themselves about clinical trial practices will follow up with the good doctor soon.

Don’t fall for that. They would probably take the zinc out.
But HCQ is being used/tested in too many places for them to shut it down. The information about its effectiveness is out and they can't shut it down. Although they are trying.
Plus its cheap and available.
How available is Remdesvir for normal people? At this time probably not.
Just heard an ABC radio news blurb that was upbeat on Remdesivir. ABC has been relentlessly negative on HCQ.
ABC credited Remdesivir/Gilead for today’s market rally. Likewise the top Apple financial news headline on my iPhone credits Remdesivir for the rally.
The big EU clinical trial that started a month or so ago included Remdesivir among the four drugs to be tested but initially excluded HCQ. HCQ was only added at the last minute.
With Remdesivir there’s a profit factor in play, but there’s also a timing factor. Unlike HCQ which is available right now, Remdesivir will undoubtedly need various approvals and processes to complete before it can be released. In other words, the timing of its release will be under bureaucratic control.
Obviously would be good if Remdesivir turns out to be an effective treatment, but the whole thing strikes me as slightly fishy.
What lives has it saved?
There has been a drug that has saved hundreds of millions of lives from malaria and tens of thousands of lives from coronavirus and has been used for 70 years. It’s called Chloroquine.
Words fail. NONE of this destruction of the country was worth THIS BS.
Except, of the two of us, I’m the only one who has prescribed hydroxychloroquine for someone with COVID-19. Yes, it worked. Yet I’m also “sheeple” for wanting another drug that works also.

Ask Foochi if he predicted that the 2019-2020 seasonal flu would be as severe as the 2017-2018. Ask him to do a comparison of COVID19 and seasonal flu with current numbers. Include known infections and deaths for both. Ask Fooch if he knows anything about some US$ that went to a certain Wuhan lab. Ask him if he approved that grant. Just curious.
