Former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) says he will not be casting his vote for President Donald Trump in 2020, citing concerns he had with the president before the 2016 campaign.
I just couldnt support [Trump] long before he started to run. The birtherism thing was just too much for me. And then it piled on, Flake, a vocal critic of Trump, told the Washington Post.
Flake also warned that a second Trump term could deter younger voters from the GOP, especially on issues concerning the environment and immigration.
So for young people whove grown up around minorities or had a different experience than a lot of us in my generation, they dont harbor, I think, some of the prejudices that people in my generation do, Flake said.
Flake added that a Trump defeat in November would benefit the Republican Party and conservatism in the long run.
This wont be the first time Ive voted for a Democrat though not for president. Last time I voted for a third-party candidate, he said. But I will not vote for Donald Trump.
Flake also predicted the GOP would change once Trump ends his time in the Oval Office.
The pendulum swings when one party takes it too far, he said. Well be ourselves again.
Flake served in the Senate between 2013 and 2019 and served six terms in the House before that.
As a senator, he criticized Trump on a variety of issues, including his negative comments on his colleague, former Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in 2015.
Politico reported that Flake was also shocked to discover that his friend and former House colleague Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) was selected to be Trumps running mate...

Continuing to live up to what everyone knows he is...
One term nobody
Oh damn it and here I thought Flake was a Trump vote for sure/sarc
He went crying into an elevator when a screeching woman wouldn’t stop yelling at him, that’s when I realized what an absolute fruit cake Flake is
The fact is that the left ruthlessly silenced anyone who questioned the strange circumstances of Obama’s birth. The vicious anti birther campaign pushed the subject from polite conversation. Birthers became dirty racists. To associate with a birther was akin to joining the KKK. All this extreme effort to quash birtherism makes me confidant that I’m right being a birther and that Obama was a Manchurian Candidate planted to destroy America from within. He almost pulled it off.
Gee...I guess we can save the stamp.
What is Flake up to these days..just kidding ..i don’t care.
Flakes, “concern” young people will not vote for President Trump is a strawman argument. Many did. Many more will again. My children all voted for President Trump last time and will do so again. They are Millenials. Many of their friends did as well and will do so again.
My children are considered minorities. Their mother is a Legal Immigrant and Naturalized American from Southeast Asia. And, she’s as Conservative and Patriotic as they come.
In fact, several years back she was interviewed by Tampa media because she was vocally taking part in a Tea Party event downtown and the media questioned her participation in the event. They seemed to be astonished she was there.
So, Trump is gonna lose a vote he didn’t get in 2016. I’m sure he’s bummed about that
He’s a former senator. Still registered GOP AFAIK.
Why amplify Flake’s flaky opinions?
I just want someone to give me one good reason why I should give a damn about anything Jeff Flake says.
Hey Snowflake, nobody cares.
We don’t want your corrupt vote. It stinks to high heaven!
STFU, ya’ pathetic bitch.
I hope he gets pancreatic cancer.
He didn’t vote for Ttump n 2016 either. What difference did it make?
Started with Birtherism
Obiously one of OCommies butt bois if that’s what “started it”
BOHICA, Flakey
Is anyone at all surprised at this?
Go F’ yourself Flake.
I wish all shithead senators were as easy to get rid of as this guy was.
