Woodrow Wilson was reelected when 500,000 American lives were lost to the Spanish flu, and another 116,415 in WWI. Wilson won in 1912 and was reelected in 1916 before we entered the war or the Spanish flu broke out. In 1920 Harding beat Cox (stop giggling you 12 year olds) in the Battle of Ohio.

Wilson was re-elected in 1916; his campaign slogan was "He kept us out of war." A month after his second inauguration, he plunged us into World War 1. In 1917. In 1918, the Spanish Flu hit.
Wilson was re-elected BEFORE those lives were lost.
