ok, so maybe they close for thorough cleaning and put employee testing protocols n place then open up what ever portion of plant they can. This isn’t rocket science! these plant managers seem unable to do their jobs.

Perhaps it is. However, I think it is probably more likely to be a media disinformation campaign designed to get Americans to panic buy.
Last night we had a phone call from relative in midwest near packing plants that have had to close due to a COVID19 outbreak. He said the press is distorting what closing means. They are just down for the time it takes to sanitize the plants and reorganize the lines to accommodate social distancing. The plants are also hiring replacement workers in huge numbers. He said the locals expect the plants to be up and running again in two weeks.
I’m a Project Manager for a company that makes Poultry processing machines that go in the Plants. This article is BS!!! I was just in a Chicken Plant where they had 18 people with the beer virus and they quarantined 400 people for 2 weeks.

It's just truly amazing how people just comment and form strong opinions about things they don't to even learn the basic facts about. Did you even read the article you posted? The plants were not closed as part of social distancing policies - it is because the employees got ill and their operations were crippled.
