These days, television entertainment shows depict gun owners either as buffoons or criminals. They never portray regular civilians using guns to save lives, and instead like to show firearms falling into the wrong hands.
On Friday's episode of The Blacklist," a robber fatally shoots a young woman working at a convenience store. A minute earlier, the woman had been admitted to the college of her dreams.

Didn’t know that show was still on the air.
I miss Charles Bronson.
Well, most of the pro-gun videos on YouTube are shot with some dopey, bearded, tattooed, pierced, loser with his stupid hat on backwards that actually looks like the kinda guy you would draw down on. They themselves create a stereotype of a thug. So what do ya expect?
Facts are not in gin control, favor so they use propaganda.
I wish John Lott was still a FReeper.
America has a serious problem.
The news, Hollywood and especially public education are all very liberal. There is a lot written on this, even those in Hollywood or the news would admit to this... If you had to break it down, the bias that is pro liberal is probably as great as 85 - 90% in the news and Hollywood.
That said, they create perceptions and perception influence behaviors.
Instead of decisions being based on empirical, pragmatic, cost-benefit, reasonable risk avoidance management, you get these ideological or philosophically driven decisions that make no sense. Think about what happened after the BP oil spill, after the Fukushima nuclear incident, the global warming scare and how we are today all being permanently taxed (people don’t realize this), or the ban on DDT. Kids are not being taught how tens of thousands of humans DIED in places like Sri Lanka because of a book that was essentially fiction (Silent Spring) but which led to the ban of DDT because politicians pander to whatever the public sentiment is of the moment.
The news, Hollywood and public education advertise/sell the liberal message and tell folks that this is what is logical (their anti nuclear message), ethical (their pro abortion message), reasonable (anything environmental at any cost), natural (that feminism or homosexuality is natural), and patriotic (that socialism is patriotic, or going against the war in Iraq is patriotic - example Michael Moore...).
The problem is that they sell their dysfunctional social and economic world view and some of these ideas like socialism are very catching/addictive even without any help since they promise “free” stuff to the self perceived under privileged (even if they have 3 TVs in the average home, a cell phone, high speed Internet and over 50% of the adults are obese).
I found it fairly annoying and wondered if they thought that's what it's really like down here. Who knows. But at least they vote proper! (Nice folks, actually). d:^)
It is more than 90% liberal. I would guess probably 98 or even more.
I sometimes watch a video about guns ammo etc. That image has not been my experience at all.
Usually just some ordinary guy.

Have you been over to Black Rifle Coffee Company’s channel?
All those bearded, tattooed, pierced, Special Operators must really be a bunch of losers. :)
Of course, it's not the beard, tattoo or piercing that makes a "Special Operator" in any way, shape, or form "special." Nor is it the latest-camo-pattern clothing, or five feet of rail, full of whizbang gewgaws, on whatever firearm they happen to be using (although I hate to disappoint all of the 'mall ninjas' out there ;^)...
