German automaker Volkswagen restarted production on Thursday
ZWICKAU, Germany—German automaker Volkswagen restarted production on Thursday at its plant in Zwickau, where its crucial mass-market electric vehicle is being made ahead of its launch later this year.
The company said the plan was “health before production numbers” as the assembly line started up after a five-week closure under new health rules agreed with worker representatives that include... wearing face protection where a 6-foot distance can’t always be observed. Other measures include.. regular cleanings. Distancing is required in washrooms, changing rooms, and lunchrooms.
At restart the plan was to make 50 cars per day, about a third of previous output.
Manufacturing plants in several European countries have resumed work in recent days as some governments look to ease some of the lockdown measures that have dealt a blow to the economy.

If I was a Volkswagen worker, I’d get a COVID-19 antibody test and hope it was positive. If positive, I’d say “I don’t need no stinkin’ mask” and refuse to wear it.

And here in Texas many small business owners are saying screw you to the gov. We are going back to work. Shockingly in Dallas county, some hair dressers and bar owners.

The weather has been crappy here in Michigan. Crappy, cold and wet with temps lagging well below normal. When the weather breaks, look out- people are gonna go out and do things and tell the political elite to get stuffed.

I think some businesses will simply make their own decisions in how they open. One barber won’t open unless the state supplies his employees with tests and masks....others want to open and will get these on their own.
You can open a business but doesn’t mean customers are going to be flocking in no matter what you do. I think it’s going to be a slow step at first then the public will get their mojo back and startt living normal again.
yep! Out here in Pa it’s been raining every day. But I agree once the weater breaks and it gets nice people are going to venture out.
It’s 87 today but the winds are gusting to 30mph. People are out in town buying what they need and want. Walmart is given the advantage and restaurants and other small businesses are taking it in the shorts.

It’s the antibodies test which, if positive for the “recovered” antibodies, means you’ve had COVID-19, defeated it and are now virus/disease free. And, with a degree of certainty, IMMUNE - you can’t get COVID-19 from your co-workers and can’t give it to them since you don’t have it. So no need for a mask unless you want to pretend you’re in China.
