President Trump plans to pare back his coronavirus press conferences, according to four sources familiar with the internal deliberations.
Why this matters: Trump's daily press conferences — televised to a largely homebound population — have dominated the public discourse about the coronavirus.
Behind the scenes: A number of Trump's most trusted advisers — both inside and outside the White House — have urged him to stop doing marathon televised briefings.
But Trump has defended the practice, telling critics that the briefings get good ratings.

Ignore the polls. Hillary did not win.
Good its time to stop feeding the climate of fear.
Trump needs a long weekend at Camp David.
There are many of us who enjoy “Beat the Press”.
Today, was the best episode ever.
After waiting 45 minutes and then listening to Trump, Hahn, and Pence for 28 minutes, the press was left all alone with their gotcha questions they had collaborated on for the last 24 hours.
Once again President Trump ‘Beat the Press’.
We all need to keep in mind that the favorability of the media is under 20%. The media has irritated Americans for years and Americans appreciate that Trump is not afraid to take them on.
About the same time I started waiting to read the transcripts. The pressitudes were just too infuriating. Today no questions and the chinese plant, Weijia Jiang, complained on twitter.

Thank God. What a disaster (unless you are blind and can not discern it) . Let the professionals run it, for crying out loud, with an occasional cameo appearance. Like just about every other nations briefings on worldwide internet TV I watch. Particularly in countries where they went through hell w/ Corona but have reversed the course. They have a lot to teach us. This has been getting ridiculous! He will lose 2020 over it ....Mark my word.
Perfect timing.
I noticed that Weijii had a paper notepad sitting on her lap today. It would be very good if the press is no longer permitted to bring in their laptops. They do not even pay attention to the answers given to other reporters, maybe not even to the presentations. They sit their getting gotcha questions from outside the briefing room and tweeting during the briefing. That is ridiculous.
All these polls are worthless. The world will be in a much different place by election day anyways.
yikes if true, and probably deserves a separate thread...
(always thought trump was holding something back when asked about KJU)
He comes out and gives good information then gets savaged by the Press for the next 24 hours. No matter what he says the Press takes the opposite position, all negative
His best asset was his rallies, they are now gone, the only way to get his message out now are ads he has to pay for Biden may be ahead but he gets No negative coverage and he doesn’t know what day it is. Things are not looking good for our President right now, gets hammered 24\7,his biggest plus, the economy in the tank,no rallies,it’s gonna be tough folks
Of course they will. If Trump walked on water, the headline would be “TRUMP CAN’T SWIM!!”
Fighting with the very dumb and rude, disrespectful press is..... futile
“””They do not even pay attention to the answers given to other reporters, maybe not even to the presentations.”””
I remember Alex Azar made a presentation. Five minutes a later a reporter asked a question that Azar had clearly made in his presentation. Azar returned to the podium and repeated verbatim what he had said 5 minutes earlier.
No the reporters do not listen at all. Their minds are totally focused on the gotcha question they have been assigned to ask.
I suspect most reporters need to receive prompt medical attention for their ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDERS.
No. We weren’t. Don’t speak for his base when you are not one.
Wonder who the senior administration official is?
