"Supposing you brought the light inside of the body, which you could do either through the skin or in some other way," Trump said during the daily White House coronavirus task force briefing. "The whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That's, uh, that's pretty powerful."

Every minute some 1/5th of the blood in your body passes through capillaries that are well within reach of UV light. They may only be there moments but that means you just need more than a minute or two to treat 5-7% of your circulating volume. And the risk of a tan is nothing like the risk of hemolytic anemia.
I cringed when he said that.
He was asking if things that killed thre virus could be introduced in a way that might be helpful...it came out awkward my mind pictured a UV emitter being threaded into a lung as a possibility but I have no idea of whether internal “topical” therapies would even be relevant.
Fiber optic catheter into an artery?
I have had enough!
As soon as President Trump said this, a relative texted me the President wants to inject bleach into people ....and called him idiotic!
My husband is writing this relative to tell him stop communicating with us!
“And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?
“So it’d be interesting to check that.”
Pointing to his head, Mr Trump went on: “I’m not a doctor. But I’m, like, a person that has a good you-know-what.”
When a family member was in India during World War 11.....he got dysentery ( from eating something from a vendor)
The Army Medics took him to a rest camp/hospital where they gave him arsenic in the morning ...to kill the dysentery
....and massive amounts of vitamins in the afternoon to ameliorate the arsenic!
It worked!......he lived to 89
yes. mae culpa. 5 am here small keyboard in dark room to not wake dh up
Internal UV light treatment for viral infections is not such a crazy idea.
A device and method is proposed to enable the treatment of interior of bodily hollow organs and other interior cavities of a body for a number of harmful virus, fungal, and bacterial entities and autoimmune conditions by internal short wavelength ultraviolet light by use of specially equipped endoscope-like devices.

Inhaled antiviral medications for treatment of respiratory infections also not a crazy idea.

Why are you posting such obvious bullshit?
For transplanted organs but still not a crazy idea.
The perfusion process is still utilized in the new technology, but a photosensitive drug is also introduced to the lung, within the liquid preservative. Red light at a wavelength of 660 nanometers is then shone into the biological tissue, where that light’s energy is absorbed by the drug’s molecules. That energy gets transferred to the oxygen molecules in any viruses that are present, causing them to become oxidized. The result is irreversible damage to the membranes and genetic material of viruses such as hepatitis C and HIV-1, causing their death.

We used to do it all the time in the Swan days. But, no. Wouldnt work, the blood is moving too fast, the volume irradiated would be minuscule. Now a PUVA Box, entirely different deal.
NO KIDDING? Ever since Gayboy Drudge saw Trump oppose same sex bathrooms in N Carolina, he has been attacking him.
The Drudge Report has become the Sludge Report.
Pure garbage
If it works reliably it is interesting but a long way from being usable in the intact human being
His father got involved, so did the team of advertisers. Drudge realized this is about revenue now, period. You ride the populous railroad and reap the benefits.
Anyone heard any calls lately about his site being closed down like it was a few years ago? You think the dems are doing anything but agreeing whole heartedly at what he is doing?
I think myself he just got bored with it, turned it over to someone else to manage and run and is sitting at some gay mecca sipping a fruity drink and making new friends.
He was talking about light being used as a disinfectant, and wondered if it could somehow be introduced into the body.
There have been at least 3 posts referring to an old way of doing something similar for this exact purpose: a small amount of blood is removed from the body, exposed to light, returned to the body, and voilà! The person gets better.
Right above Drudge’s article about fashion designers getting catty with each other...typical of the kind of side stories that appeal to people of Drudge’s proclivities.
