Co-founder of the substance abuse recovery program “Teen Challenge,” 80-year-old pastor Don Wilkerson has recovered from COVID-19 thanks to hydroxychloroquine, he says, reporting improvement within a day.
Wilkerson thinks he picked up the CCP virus, commonly known as novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, during a visit to his Teen Challenge Brooklyn chapter in early March.
He soon began to feel sick and lost his sense of taste and smell. “I got pneumonia, I could hardly walk, or talk; she (his wife) couldn’t understand me very well,” Wilkerson told CBN News.
After testing positive, he was admitted to the hospital, but his situation worsened. “The nurse came in at one point, and she said, ‘The doctor wants to give you this experimental drug,’ and I said ‘yes,’ I okayed it and I took it,” Wilkerson told the outlet.
The nurse was referring to hydroxychloroquine. Wilkerson took the medicine, and by the next day, upon awakening, he felt much better, and more strikingly, he could taste, and smell again.
“I started to cry, and I called my wife Cynthia, and I said, ‘Honey I can taste, I can taste,’ three times I said ‘I can taste.’ I was like a little kid, and I knew at that point … that the medicine had worked on the virus,” Wilkerson said.
Earlier this month, Michigan state representative Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) also claimed success with the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine and thanked President Donald Trump for helping save her life as she battled COVID-19.
Whitsett said she tested positive for the virus on March 18 and began taking hydroxychloroquine on March 31, which was prescribed by her doctor.
Whitsett told the Detroit Free Press on April 6 that it took “less than two hours” before she started to experience relief from COVID-19, adding that she previously experienced swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath, and sinus problems.
“It has a lot to do with the president … bringing it up,” Whitsett told the paper about the hydroxychloroquine treatment regimen. “He is the only person who has the power to make it a priority.”
When a reporter from the Free Press asked her about whether she thinks Trump saved her life, she replied: “Yes, I do,” and “I do thank him for that.”
The NIH(aka Gilead Pharma) said...NO. Stop getting better, stop this right now, we need TEST, TESTS, double blind tests, could be years, hunker down, lockdown ....serfs!
But he’s only anecdotally alive.

I follow the covid19 recovery stories but this one made me very happy. Pastor Don Wilkerson can continue in his ministry for a longer time because God is healing him.
It’s a miracle that “The Cross and the Switchblade”/David & Don Wilkerson ministry birthed from the 1950’s NYC gang salvations is still effective to this day. Teen Challenge centres worldwide and Times Square Church are saving lives. Nicky Cruz is still evangelizing. Obviously it is all a work of God.
Our health system is corrupt.
My daughter was saved from certain death by this organzation (TC)... they are typically the last resort for many who are addicted...
They focus on breaking you down and making you face your issues/problems... followed by building you up in understanding your worth in Christ.
Long program, 12-15 months... because it takes 8-10 moths for the body to get back to normal after opiate addiction... It costs very little, ususally free to those who have nothing.... they take donations and do fund raising.

I’ve supported TC for years as a donor. Some of the ‘students’ I sponsored stayed addiction-free and ended up in TC administrative positions. I’m so glad there are more women’s centers now. There weren’t many Christian rehab places for women to go for the longest time. TC has the best rate for ex-students staying sober, even after 5 years.

My daughter graduated the program in 2016... had some set backs, but has been doing well for a few years now...
I could afford to pay... and all they asked for was $450/month... her story is a true miracle... from paralysis, blindness and brain damage... to completing community college this spring and on to a 4 year school... God has blessed us far beyond what we prayed for.
I still give to TC monthly... because I know the pain these families are going through.
Had the honor of seeing this man speak many times at a church on Long Island..

Passengers from Wuhan, China, will be screened at J.F.K. beginning Friday night, and in San Francisco and Los Angeles starting on Saturday.

What makes the statements by Dr. Messonnier even more interesting is the fact she is the only sister of former DOJ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

“It’s not a question of if this will happen but when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illnesses,” Nancy Messonnier, the director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said on Feb. 25.
