President Donald Trump has slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi four times since Friday, suggesting shes taking a vacation and promoting street fairs and parties in San Franciscos Chinatown.
Hes incorrect.
Since the coronavirus outbreak shut down much of the country last month, the California Democrat has been working either out of her San Francisco home and at the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
She returned to Washington Monday, as her office said she had planned before Trumps criticisms.
Pelosi has been personally involved in negotiating with Trump administration officials a new economic aid package that aims to help small businesses and hospitals.
And when she visited San Franciscos Chinatown in late February, she did not advocate a street party.

Okay, maybe she didn't use the phrase "street party" but she definitely encouraged people to visit Chinatown. Saying "precautions have been taken" and dropping Fauci's name as endorsing her encouragement.

Let Them Eat Ice Cream
Trump said street parties to get the media worked up so theyd write fact checks That readers would see right through
Otherwise they might have tried to ignore the whole thing
The SacBee runs interference for Cruella de Pelosi. I’m in San Francisco, and the coronavirus/Chinatown thing really was an issue back in February. The local media & politicians spent weeks whining that people were avoiding Chinatown & Chinese New Year’s festivities out of irrational concerns about coronavirus. The party line was very much: “Coronavirus is absolutely nothing to worry about, so come on down to Chinatown and celebrate Chinese New Year and spend your money. The Chinese merchants and restaurants are hurting because some crazy racists think there’s some kind of virus going around.” Pelosi’s photo op in Chinatown was very much part of that larger PR offensive.
Of course, that same local media is now in full-on “blame Trump,” so all of this is down the Orwellian memory hole now.
She most certainly did encourage a street party in San Francisco. I believe she even said the streets are filled with celebrating people or something to that effect.
as in the second definition of verb (used with object):
Oh WTF ever.
It was a bit of hyperbole in response or would some people have seen it that way and had a party?
I tell yuh, even I have taken off my Rolex’s or Omega’s and switched to watches like Zodiac...
Was there a higher rate of the WuHu flu in Chinatown than SF in general?
See what the SacBee did?
They are mashing items from two different timeframes, and commenting as if both were current.
Pelosi made her Chinatown comments on February 24, two days after the Nevada caucus and the day before the Democrat debate in Charleston, South Carolina. Democrats were in full primary mode at the time, and nobody was suggesting that voters should stay-at-home the week before Super Tuesday.
The "Fifteen Days to Slow the Spread" guidelines weren't released until March 16, more than two weeks after Pelosi's Chinatown statements. Pelosi pro forma recessed the House on March 16 and announced they won't return until May, despite the Senate remaining in session, hence President Trump's "vacation" comment.
Pelosi remained on "vacation" last week when the Senate was ready to refill the SBA loan program, but the House recess prevented Congress from moving the bill forward. That's the "current" part of the comment mash-up.
Fact Check: Fail.

isn’t it AFTER trump banned flights from china. Who would think Chinese nationals would show up at the NY and SF Chinese New years Parades.
Too bad that is not Nazi in Chinatown having some Bat-On-A-Stick...!!!
Oh they hang on with the slimiest of excuses for her. It was a street party regardless of the terminology she used.
Fact check = Media lying for Democratzis.
"Fact checking" is "checking the facts" to prevent them from informing anyone...
When the facts are inconvenient, just slap the words fact check in front of whatever BS you are about to spew and it will all be A-OK.
Fact check: one plus one isnt really two.
