Hung like a leprechaun, hanged like a pirate.
A leprechaun!?! Yikes! I’m not sure I want to know about that. lol
Simply fascinating.
Despite that Grace OMalley could well have been an ancestor of mine, she couldnt hold a candle to Joan DArc.

Did she just die from COVID-19?
She reminds me of Thamaris, queen of the Massagetai whose army defeated Cyrus the Great’s army and executed Cyrus. This was Thamaris’s revenge after her son committed suicide after being captured by Cyrus.
Why do I have the feeling that anyone who resisted the English hegemony in Ireland ended up being called a pirate - or worse?
bump for later
Great read, thanks for posting.

Thanks, Leni, but real historian Catherine Curzon wrote it - I just posted it. Great to see you’re still with us hopefully safe from the escaped weapon flu.
I was NewRome Tacitus back in the day, big on the illegal immigration problem and Minuteman supporter. The wall’s going up only 20 years after first approval. If they’d have gotten it done in the first place we might have retained California but I’m not one to cry over spilt cerveza.
She was a pirate, but her fleet wasn't that big; also, Queen Lizzie had privateers operating on the high seas raiding Spanish treasure ships. If there had been a united Ireland, there wouldn't have been much of an opening for conquest, and probably would have been a dynastic union of some sort. In the 12th c the Normans were recruited by an Irish king who needed extra force to take on one of his neighbors, and the British presence in Ireland (in the Republic) remained there 750 years, and is still present in the outside six of N. Ireland.
