Although there is still much we dont know about the coronavirus, we know enough to say that it is far more dangerous and deadly than the flu. It took twelve months and 61 million infections for the H1N1 swine flu to kill 12,500 Americans in 200910. The Centers for Disease Control estimated that the seasonal flu killed 34,200 Americans during the 201819 flu season. In 2019, car crashes killed 38,800 Americans.
As for the new coronavirus? On March 20, the death toll in the United States was 225. By April 20, the coronavirus had killed more than 42,000 Americans.

bull harking ****!
Maybe not. H1N1 deaths were probably very under-counted. We know COVID-19 deaths are very over-counted.
Flu took the lives of 61,000 americans 2 seasons ago.
That’s why the US is still below expected deaths (3 yr average) since March 1st.

LIARS!!!
EFFIN LIARS!!!
They are cooking the books, denigrating the memory of loved ones and reducing their existence to a commodity of renumerations from the Feds for anywhere from $19K-$39K in New York
They suddenly found 4,000 new corona deaths over night? Why?

BullSHHH
The CDC and WHO stopped counting in 2009 when they realized that millions would be infected. They modeled the number of deaths. Since then they just call it another flu.
The Communist Chinese murdered almost 15x those murdered by Al Qaeda on 9/11.
And we are allowing them to get away with it.
What a stupid, fear-mongering article.
This isn’t necessarily true.
More hype.
Imagine if every flu case and death were tracked and monitored like Wuhan flu.
We’d think the same thing, that there’s a huge deadly epidemic.
People don’t realize how many people 328 million is.
That said, New York City is an exception. They’ve well exceeded how many people die in a normal day.
Boy, WF Buckley must be spinning in his grave so rapidly that we could power NYC were he attached to a dynamo.
Dont You DARE, National Review.
Dont You DARE.
CDC estimates that between 41 million and 84 million cases of 2009 H1N1 occurred between April 2009 and January 16, 2010, the agency said in a statement. Usually the CDC goes with a middle number, which it puts at about 57 million people infected.
Between 8,330 and 17,160 people died during that time from H1N1, with a middle range of about 12,000, the CDC said. But between 880 and 1,800 children died, up to 13,000 adults under the age of 65 and only 1,000 to 2,000 elderly.
ACCURATE ESTIMATES
The CDC and the World Health Organization stopped trying to count all the actual cases months ago, once it became clear that H1N1 was a pandemic that would infect millions.
WHOs count of lab-confirmed cases showed that at least 15,292 people had died in 212 countries and territories.
In NY and NJ, maybe. But then, how do we define a CV19 death vs a normal CV (e.g. the flu) death?
But, hey, the dead, theyll still be voting Democrat....
Exactly...NOT Americans, but NEW YORK City residents...the petri dish of America
Better look at those numbers again John. Then we will expect a reprint of your article with an apology and the correct data.
>>By April 20, the coronavirus had killed more than 42,000 Americans.
Include 4,000 fake but accurate deaths in De Fascio’s NYC added to the count in a single day.
Somebody been playin with the numbers, last year was 85,000 and average is 60,000 with a low of around 40,000 any given year.
