After 92 years, the Native American woman on the packaging of Land OLakes products has finally been released from her tenure as an advertising icon. The company announced it would be removing the controversial illustration that has appeared on its packaging since 1928 in a press release back in February, and now the new packaging has started rolling out in keeping with the companys slated spring/summer timeline.

In my bacterial stabilization thermal reduction unit (refrigerator), I have Kroger butter. It was on sale, it tastes fine; I don’t use a lot of butter anyway.
Fine. Erase all public references to indians in signage, text books, any product. They want to be ignored, fine.
To be replaced by a multi-ethnic lesbian update?
I remember being shown this when I was a kid. I thought then that it was pretty lame but kids...
Anyway...
Yeah we’re gonna get back to serious issues after this pandemic scare right yeah the leftist snowflakes on Twitter still rule this country with the lying marxists in the media and these corporate slags who sold America out a long time ago cave like the cheap suits that they are.
Funny that you wrote that, when I was a kid my best friend showed me how you could fold the image so that her knees looked like they were her breasts. LOL.
Part of my heritage is Native American. Im somewhat disappointed with Land O Lakes decision. It was nice artwork presented in a tasteful manner. Whats wrong with these people?
at least we don’t have to watch those old MAZOLA advertisements from 40 years ago! “You call it corn, WE call it Maze.”
We would cut the knees off, then tape them behind the butter she was holding, and cut out three sides so it flipped up for an early 80’s rite of passage!
Your 25:.... where are the nepals? Gotta have nepals. By the way, Im tea be tan.
Another step in the scrubbing of references to AmerInd folks.
Sex is the last thing I think of when I buy Land O’ Lakes. Marlon Brando might disagree........
The racially obsessed view everything through a lens of racism.
So it is with all obsessions.
I remember that. And the carton even had dotted lines to show where to cut so you could fold it up. The result was that the knees became breasts being held up by the lady’s hands. Kind of juvenile but not racist. It’s time for the picture to go.
I wonder if Ruth Buffalo, professional agitator, has done anything at all about the real problems of endemic alcoholism and domestic violence that plague "her people".
We use a lot of butter, and I usually get what’s on sale (usually the H-E-B brand). I would only get Land OLakes if it was on sale. Now I won’t ever get it at all.
Everything offends someone.
And some are offended by nearly everything.
But when people have got time to be offended by packaging (place names, statues...) theyve got so few real problems they have to hunt up stuff to be offended by.
I remember this....
It’s funny how the knees resemble breasts.
Coincidence...or early subliminal messaging?
