39 times 633,000 known victims = 24,687,000.
.8% * 24687000 = 197,496 dead rather than the current estimate of 30,000.
Sorry those numbers just don't match.
1. NO ONE is an expert on Covid-19, and the statements of the plethora of 'experts' on the news shows need to be taken with appropriate skepticism.
2. The current RT-PCR-based Covid-19 tests are likely capturing <70% of cases. It is also entirely possible that the Covid-19 sequences targeted will mutate - leading to more false negative testing.
3. There are no magic bullet therapeutics at this point, including chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine. They may have some therapeutic effects, but they are not 'miraculous' cures.
4. Anyone who dogmatically states that this virus did not originate in the virology institute in Wuhan is not honest, or not considering all the facts. It is a very, very real possibility.
I think they are still under estimating, it is more. You have to get the entire number of people exposed and detection depends on accurate tests and good sampling
