No. It’s a “trendy, cool” thing to do to make perfectly healthy and non- infected people feel good about themselves.
Until my work makes it mandatory in order to keep my job, I’m not doing it. That will be the ONLY reason I will do it, to provide for my family.
All the mask wearers out there can give me the stank eye all you want, until you feel better about yourself. If you are scared, protect yourself.

are you in favor of mandatory masks and distancing and business lockdowns when annual flu bugs and harsh head colds make their common runs through the community, and if not, why not...? after all, each can kill people who already have compromised respiratory systems...

Contrary to what some people still believe, COVID-19 is a far more serious illness than the flu. The only reason the original projections of 1.5 Million to 3.0 million Americans dead didn't come to pass is that we locked down and did mitigation efforts.
But does it make sense to do it for the flu? Yeah, it probably does. The flu kills 20,000 Americans a year. In 2017/18 it killed 80,000 Americans. If we wore masks most of the time in December and January when flu is usually ramping, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't reduce those deaths by 75%.
The mitigation efforts against COVID-19 showed a dramatic drop in flu cases and deaths. So we've proven it can work.
Probably doesn't have to be mandatory. Public service announcements encouraging the use of mass for those 2 months, would probably encourage enough people to have an impact.
If we did it for a year or two and saw a dramatic drop, maybe we could get the rest of the world to do it too. I'd love to see flu eradicated.
Too bad for her....they could have treated her now and cleared her of the typhus.
