To get ahead of any federal guidelines allowing states to re-open their economy, Governor Gavin Newsom is outlining the terms and conditions for California. Please remember the key words that all totalitarian minds use in their language. When you see the code-words: “challenge“, “opportunity“, “partner” or “support“, pay extra attention..... California will not lift their lock-down orders until the government has:
(1) The ability to monitor and protect our communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating, and supporting those who are positive or exposed.
Do we have the ability to identify contacts of those who are positive to reduce further transmission? Do we have the ability to test everyone who is symptomatic?
Are older Californians and the medically vulnerable living in their own homes supported [under surveillance] so they can continue appropriate physical distancing?

Just how long can the nation be fed, clothed, kept warm in winter, cool in summer and maintain a resemblance of their prior standard of living without being productive. When despite the state mandates and “new world order” will things start falling apart and the people descend into social and political disorder.

Do they even currently have the ability to identify their citizens?
He can’t do it. He’ll have federal troops at the capitol like what happened in Montgomery. A governor can not suspend or ignore the civil rights of citizens. Right now, Newsome is violating 1st and 4th Amendment rights of Americans on nothing but fear and theories.
And the Governor has just blasted to peices the entire Outdoor Entertainment Industry, not to say places like Disneyland, etc. Movie Theaters are now just a memory. Fairs and festivals now a thing of the past. Newsome said at the end that Mass Gatherings will be forbidden until there is herd immunity. How can you get herd immunity if everyone is stuck in their home away from people...
Newsome really thinks what he/she is doing is a step toward a presidential run down the road. He/she will learn soon enough that Americans have had a taste of totalitarianism and they don’t like it ... at all!

Like all liberals, Newsom will very loosely meet all criteria when there is outrage. No matter the conditions on the ground.
It really doesn’t matter what criteria any governor sets.
What matters is how long people will put up with it.

Exactly. According to the numbers on Worldometer, California is fifth or sixth in total cases, but if you look at cases per one million of population it’s somewhere around 30th (including DC).

what’s going to happen is that as a sizeable number of states reopen for business, the fascist “plans” of these Democrat governors are going to go out the door as the citizens of those states stage massive civil disobedience protests demanding a return to normalcy ...

I don’t like the sound of that. If positive the only support I want is the medical advice of my Dr. on the best treatment.
An attempt to present themselves as being in total control. In my location, there are only so many stormtroopers to police the area and enforce their commands, so it simply looks to me like Newsom is reacting to what is happening despite his desire to have our populace blindly following the state governments commandments.
