he power of the coronavirus pandemic as a potential global game changer may be on full display in the South China Sea. China is stepping up its operations in the international waterway while the U.S. Defense department grapples with over 1,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in its ranks.
The pandemic began in Wuhan, China and peaked in the Communist country in February. Chinas numbers may reek of skepticism but by all accounts, they have seen the worst of the disease. Barring any 2nd wave of COVID-19, the country is slowly returning to normal with their military unscathed and at full strength.

See - that brave carrier captain was so heroic to let the Chinese know that they could patrol the waters with impunity.
The author is a silly little girl that just wet her panties.
Our services are completely capable of doing whatever needs doing.
Time to bring in 3 more Carrier Groups.
Well, in fairness, we are down one strike group.
“we are down one strike group”
Nonsense.
Even the Roosevelt could get underway in 24hrs notice.
Time for another “untimely” fire in a Chink shipyard???
The Chinese at full strength is not even close to us.
The author needs to change her tampon.
MAGA. America respected far and wide
I always tell those who doubt our prowess to remember our Tridents and superior attack sub support. I sleep well at night knowing they are on guard, and the World knows it, including the wannabe nations.
The South China Sea is not a vital interest. Our impending bankruptcy & collapse here are.
It’s not their fault.
They have not been edified at sea.
They only know what the media feeds them.
You can bet that the 2 or 3 operational missive suns the chicoms have probably have 4 to 6 us attack subs on their ass right now looking for an accident to happen
Hit wrong button to quick
I meant to say that the 2 or 3 operational missile subs the chicoms have probably each have 4 to 6 us attack subs on their ass waiting for an accident to happen
At least I hope so
Scuttling the country navy would change this game a lot right now
Kinda doubt it with today's Navy and the loss of the crew. However, we have 2 carrier groups in the Indian ocean (common knowledge).
More importantly, we have our TRIDENTS and support attack subs. The Submariners keep this rock from exploding.
Sorry, I don't get your point.
the crew is not lost.
they are ashore.
LIL!

Most of the crew are essential for battle-ready underway operations. Some are not - depends on their department and rating.
Getting underway with a "skeleton crew" was Navy SOP in my day. That was the purpose of "duty days". Still, that doesn't mean the ship is battle ready with such a small percentage of the crew. It's purpose was to get the ship out of an enclosed harbor (kill zone) into open sea to fight another day. A lesson learned with our carriers at sea during Pearl.
Am I wrong regarding today's Navy?
