Yeah, but closing all the public swimming pools controlled Polio once we got word of the opening cases. I am not entirely sure about the 1918 flu though.
To quote Dr. Fauci, that is anecdotal at best and unprovable because there was not a control group. Closing swimming pools was associated with Polio reduction, it is not provable that closing pools caused a reduction in the disease.
