Sanders had a very strong base.
At the start, Biden’s growing deficiencies were not as obvious.
The only real hope the Democrats have is that they might be able to hang on to the House. They need a presidential candidate who gets people out to vote so that the Reps down the ticket can get support.
Biden isn’t the guy to do that. Michelle wouldn’t win, but she’d get people out of the house to “make a statement” and maybe some actual candidates would benefit from that.

Donald Trump saw exactly what they were up to. His election brought their evil scheme to an abrupt halt. That's why they HATE him so venomously.

If they could place another figurehead in the White House, their vile plot might succeed. Their only question is how to get him elected.

It could only be brokered if Biden didn't get enough delegates to win. With Sanders out Biden will get the remained of the delegates and will have more than enough to win on the first round
I think they will stick with Biden so they do not lose the Bernie Bros forever.
If they replace Biden with someone other than Bernie, they are assured of losing in November and splitting the party forever.
If they stick with Biden, the Bernie Bros might show up in November and stick with the party into the future.
