Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and key member of the White House coronavirus task force, on Wednesday suggested that Americans should never shake hands again.
"When you gradually come back, you don't jump into it with both feet. You say what are the things you could still do and still approach normal. One of them is absolute compulsive hand washing. The other is you don't ever shake anybody's hands," Fauci told The Wall Street Journal's podcast.
"I don't think we should ever shake hands ever again, to be honest with you. Not only would it be good to prevent coronavirus disease, it probably would decrease instances of influenza dramatically in this country," the doctor added.

But can we still make out?
Evil worm.
Me too. I think a few years.
A town near me already cancelled their 4th of July fireworks.
This guys an idiot!
Can someone just stick a rag in Fauci’s mouth?
Maybe we should all just go around in those kinky rubber suits or furry outfits.
The insanity will be complete.
Stick a weiner in somebody else’s caboose, perfectly ok.
Shake hands!?!?!? Ewwwww!
lol
You’re too kind.
Let's play "where are they now", shall we?
We are going to appoint Mad Dog Mattis as our secretary of defense, Trump said theatrically.
He then added: But were not announcing it til Monday, so dont tell anyone Mad Dog. Hes great. He is great.
Where is Mad Dog now?
Jeff has been a highly respected member of the U.S. Senate for 20 years, said Trump in a statement announcing Sessions nomination. Jeff is greatly admired by legal scholars and virtually everyone who knows him.
Where is Jeff Sessions now?
"General Kelly has been a star, done an incredible job thus far. Respected by everybody. A great, great American," he said.
Where is John Kelly now?
HR McMaster, an army lieutenant general whose unconventional career has earned him widespread respect in US defense circles, will be Donald Trumps next national security adviser.
Trump, announcing his decision, called McMaster a man of tremendous talent and tremendous experience.
Where is HR McMaster now?
I think you get my point.
President Trump suffers from his own humility. That's right, I said humility. The humility of recognizing his own limitations which causes him to turn to those that are deemed "the experts" in their field to guide him. What he fails to realize is that often those experts do not share his visions and goals and are more interested in promoting their own selfish interests. He's had the football pulled out from under him so many times but he just doesn't seem to learn until things get out of hand. Somehow he always manages to pull himself away from the precipice. I pray that he will continue to do so.
Not to worry. The big bucks will come from the phony vaccine he's hawking as the COVID cure-all.
“I think you get my point. “
What I get from your post is that Trump is a poor judge of people.
Thanks for your judgment of Trump.
The dr is well beyond his “use by” date. Confine to his office for at least a decade. No interviews for you!
I read he makes $450,000 per year plus at least $90,000 in various benefits . He makes too much to retire . We taxpayers are chumps.
I AGREE! A STUPID “custom”. A FILTHY habit!
Now banning kissing French girls on both cheeks a few times while lightly embracing them, is where I draw the line!
This custom MUST continue!
Okay, folks, this is indeed nuts. Very demoralizing as well. If he can’t control his comments he should stay out of the public eye.
You can bet if the President said this he would be turned into an international laughing stock by the press.
Agreed. A lot of posters bere seem unaware that Trump said this first. I heard him say it at a presser. Handshaking kills tens of thousands of people every flu season. Why should we keep doing it?
