Better yet:

“I’ve spent the last four hours driving to every grocery store within 25 miles looking for toilet paper. There’s none anywhere. Got any suggestions were I could find some?”

Is this a deep pockets thing? Are they going to fine every homeless guy under the freeways?

Cops touch your tail light to leave a fingerprint to use as evidence of their being in contact with the car.

I always spit shine my tail lights.

(thread drift) There was a local radio host who liked to ask, "Who would you rather drive cross-country with? Charles Manson or Adolf Hitler?"

I said Hitler, because at least with him we might be able to have some semblance of an intelligent conversation.

Manson and his babblings, I'd throw him out the window before we even got out of town. (/thread drift)

Well, I hope they do realize that when you shut people in their homes, they have to deal with each other and get along together for long periods of time. This can be very hard for married couples, room mates etc. Sometimes people need space so it helps if someone can escape the home for a little while. Otherwise, it could escalate all the way to domestic violence. I don’t know if the woman was on a cool down or not, but it shouldn’t be up to the cops to decide.

I’d smash Manson’s head like a grape in that situation.

Two Nassau cops followed my neighbor into his driveway asking why he was out as he had no bags. I was out walking and had turned up the street. They politely asked me what I was doing out. I was finishing a quick 2 mile walk alone.

During the stop — which the troopers initiated over a faulty taillight and dark window tint — Shaffer told the officers that

Non-driver here...

Can someone please explain to me how a person can own a car with a window tint which is not legal in that state? How can illegal window tints even be sold in that state?

Regards,

These things are IQ tests. If your state has a law against tinted windows, then the person who passes the IQ test is the person who doesn't tint his windows.

I'm not even a driver (never have had a driver's license), and the country I live in doesn't know the concept of "window-tinting" (i.e., no one here has tinted windows)... And yet I've read articles mentioning that the police have pulled someone over for having tinted windows... So why would anyone ever purchase an automobile with illegally-tinted windows, knowing that it would be only a matter of time until he was pulled over?

Regards,

Yes I did read it. It also stated that her taillight was not defective.

Should have said, “shopping for toilet paper but I can’t find any.” That excuse would be good for a cross country drive, since there is none to be found in any store anywhere. “Just trying to find TP officer, do you know where I can buy some?”

I was once given a ticket for tinted windows. I purchased the vehicle NEW from a dealer in the same State where the ticket was issued. The tint was within the specs of the law, just barely. This was the second time I had been pulled over for the tint (first time nothing happened - it was simply an excuse to stop - they discovered how boring I was - not even a prior speeding ticket...lol).

Instead of just paying the fine, I drove 2 hours to go to Court on the appointed date.

The fine (female) Judge took the opportunity to lecture the packed room of traffic court attendees on the importance of Constitutional rights & ridiculous laws before tossing the case. She did tell me that I should probably remove the tint so as to avoid being harrassed in the future. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Cops still have their quotas to fill.

Never talk to an policeman. When you are pulled over, you are already under “investigation”. Never answer any questions and plead the 5th amendment to not self-incriminate.

I think I know why the Cops pulled her over. They just wanted a closer look.

IMO this is basically sensationalism with a bit of click bait thrown in. Getting pulled over in PA for equipment violations is very common. For all we know the same cop could have pulled this girl over for the same offense previously, which could have resulted in a warning that was not heeded. The fine for too dark tinting is north of $100 and the taillight offense is near the same. I am certain she wasn’t cited for “just diving around”.

There was another story this weekend in PA with the same type of headline. This involved a two teenagers that got pulled over for numerous moving violations but the headline was https://www.pennlive.com/coronavirus/2020/04/two-elysburg-men-facing-charges-of-violating-gov-wolfs-stay-at-home-order.html

These are scare tactics and the left’s attempt at making the wimpy governor look tough. The real untold story involving PA police is that they are no where to be found. It is a free for all, hammer down on the interstates right now. I drove across PA on Thursday (east to west and back) and saw one state trooper who was shielding a rollback operator loading a disabled car at night. I was speeding along 70-75 and getting passed.
