Dr. Deborah Birx: This Is Not the Time to Go to the Grocery Store
Breitbart ^ | 4/4/20 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 04/04/2020 6:58:35 PM PDT by david1292

Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday that Americans should especially focus on social distancing guidelines in the next two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe,” she said.

Birx noted that Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the Washington, DC, metro area were starting to have an increasing number of cases.

“We’re hoping and believing that if people mitigate strongly, the work that they did over the last two weeks will blunt that curve,” she said.

She pointed to really bad hotspots in New Jersey and New York, where cases of the virus and deaths were still going up.

“The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,” she said.

Dr. Anthony Fauci also said three or four hotspots were continuing to rise, but that certain areas could flatten the curve by social distancing.

“Just make sure everybody does the at least minimal amount of that physical separation, because the virus has no place to go if you’re physically separating,” Fauci said.

The models suggest we won’t flatten it until sometime around Easter. April 19th is the peak projected date for the US, last I heard.

As always Fear Inc. are moving the goalposts. In two weeks there’ll be another “hotspot” to tout. Then they’ll really ramp up the psywar gaslighting when the decision for May is close.

“She pointed to really bad hotspots in New Jersey and New York, where cases of the virus and deaths were still going up.”

I can attest to that. The aisles in the supermarkets are very narrow and the stores are filled with hundreds of people at a time here, therefore social distancing is impossible. People pass within a foot of each other and there’s no way to avoid it, even if you make the effort. That’s why I’m not surprised we’re seeing large numbers of cases here.

I just went to Wal Mart’s today about 12:00. And I may go to Publix Monday.

“METRO AREA”. The major problem is cities. Democrat run cities.

So in order not to die from Covid-19, I need to starve? And go out of business?

That is her message?

I went to our local Sam’s Club on Friday, almost felt like I should self quarantine for 2 weeks after being there just to be safe.

Thank you, I appreciate that sincerely.

I will post whether or not I go, not that it matters.

I’m going to rig a bandanna with a coffee filter, some vinyl gloves and some goggle glasses.

I will pray to the Lord for courage and strength, and then I will go.

Yes, and something completely unkown to 300K a year federal bureaucrats like she and Fauci are-— finally being able to scrape enough money to go to the store to get a few items to LIVE ON.

Not like the miniscule number of Americans who have 27-30 cu foot freezers with 3 butchered deer in them, 30 lbs of ground beef, pork sausage, shrinkwrapped beef ribeye steaks, and..... bacon! BACON! And maybe 12 large loaves of bread, frozen, and last year’s tomatoes. And on the shelf in the pantry— home canned/jarred last year’s green beans, corn, okra, tomato juice and sauce.

Bureaucrats have no clue— and willing to bet she (and he) has “people” to “go out and get some things”. Someone should ask her-— WHAT are YOU eating? Dr. Birx!

“Testing. If we just had more testing the virus would go away.”

Right, just like how AIDS would go away if everyone was tested.

How about keeping your friggin mucus membranes covered up? Or are we going to extend the abhorrence-of-abstinence and lack of personal responsibility to peoples’ mucus membranes too?

I’m going to have to go Monday morning for some fresh items. Not looking forward to it.

Go to the smaller grocery stores. Less crowds.

I’ve got a ton of sugar, but I can’t eat it ‘cuz I’m diabetic :D I got them buy 1/ get 1 to make choc chip cookies, which I’m obviously not supposed to eat.

The last time I went to Walmert, I was next in line at the self check out. I was watching people at the machines to see which would be the next available.

The machine that seemed to be next was occupied by an older gentleman. I remember watching him, I saw him take in a big sniffle, then reach up to his nose with his index finger to wipe it, then proceeded to operate the touch screen with the same finger.

I went to the self check out on the other side of the store.

The only way you could avoid going to the grocery store would be if you were comfortable eating rice, ramen beans and then I’d hope you even had enough room to store all that...

Yawn. I would rather live free and die early than have my life run by a bureaucrat who thinks she has to protect me against the worst case scenario. Went to the grocery store today. About 3/4 of the sheep were wearing masks. One big ol’ dude near the beer aisle wouldn’t look at me, standing there in his silly mask. Funny thing was, when I checked out, the demand was so slow, one of the gals from another register bagged my groceries and then we stood and talked for several minutes. They didn’t seem terribly worried either.
