Dr. Deborah Birx: This Is Not the Time to Go to the Grocery Store
Breitbart ^ | 4/4/20 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 04/04/2020 6:58:35 PM PDT by david1292

Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday that Americans should especially focus on social distancing guidelines in the next two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe,” she said.

Birx noted that Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the Washington, DC, metro area were starting to have an increasing number of cases.

“We’re hoping and believing that if people mitigate strongly, the work that they did over the last two weeks will blunt that curve,” she said.

She pointed to really bad hotspots in New Jersey and New York, where cases of the virus and deaths were still going up.

“The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,” she said.

Dr. Anthony Fauci also said three or four hotspots were continuing to rise, but that certain areas could flatten the curve by social distancing.

“Just make sure everybody does the at least minimal amount of that physical separation, because the virus has no place to go if you’re physically separating,” Fauci said.

Jane, when I was keto dieting, I bought lots of heavy cream. I still do, once I realized the stuff lasts practically forever in the fridge, because it’s ultra-pasteurized. I always check it for freshness before I use it, but I’ve had it stay fresh for long after the use by date.

I went to the store and got a 20 pack. It only had 6 mega rolls but was equal to a twenty pak. One per check out. Guess I’m done shopping.

I have GOT to buy some bins that fit my freezer! It’s an upright, and I cannot stuff it as full as I’d like, because all those odd shaped packages of meat fall out when I open the door!

One of the more in interesting links I’ve followed (ER doctor link). I somehow somewhat trust him. He’s not hysterical or alarmist like many, many others. It seems an honest and thoughtful accounting. I hope many see it. Thanks for posting.

Yeast is very hard to find and usually if you do find it—it’s rapid rise.

Serious question: Are you thin?

Well, we have a lot of obese people whose weight places them at risk, so I guess this is one way to address that problem. Anyway, she did not mention liquor stores, did she?

“These two doctors of doom are getting worse every day.”

I agree. Fauci is a loser who should stick to microscopes and his talent: finding cures for 2,000 diseases.

Brix has wonderful scarves but no faith in God and cannot be positive about anything. She says something three times as if she is tired or miserable.

There are many corona viruses and C19 is brutal. Sick should stay home, infected should go to the hospital and the healthy should go to church and work.

I totally understand, and agree with you. I’ve been practicing social distancing since I retired 16 years ago. I normally go to the grocery store and post office once a week, so nothing’s changed there. Most of my days are spent reading books, watching DVR programs, or British tv programs I’ve downloaded from a U.K. torrent site. I’ve got Netflix, Amazon Prime, got Disney+ free from Verizon, and free AppleTV with the new MacBook Air I bought. When I’m watching programs on my TV, I’m working on my family tree online. My schedule hasn’t changed at all since this started. I even managed to get the majority of all my medical tests, and doctor/dentist visits done about a week before they shut everything down...so I’m ahead of the game. I’m just going to continue to do what I’ve always done...living my life as I want.

Trust the plan, stay home!

"Generally, it appears as though humans can survive without any food for 30-40 days, as long as they are properly hydrated. Severe symptoms of starvation begin around 35-40 days, and as highlighted by the hunger strikers of the Maze Prison in Belfast in the 1980s, death can occur at around 45 to 61 days."

Fine.

I’ll just let my elderly mom and my high risk husband starve.

Sounds like a plan.

I have a freezer like yours and an upright. Mine are stocked to the brim - I started in early February, but we have run out of cat food, fresh greens for salad and comfort foods such as chips and chocolate. That’s where Walmart pickup comes in handy! I have placed one more order scheduled for Monday am pickup, then that’ll be it for at least the next 2 weeks.

If anyone doesn’t have groceries by now then they haven’t been paying attention.
