In November 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at Detroit Metro Airport stopped a Chinese biologist who was carrying three vials labeled “Antibodies” in his luggage. The biologist said a colleague in China “had asked him to deliver the vials to a researcher at a U.S. institute. After examining the vials, however, customs agents came to an alarming conclusion,” Yahoo reported.
“Inspection of the writing on the vials and the stated recipient led inspection personnel to believe the materials contained within the vials may be viable Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) materials,” the report said.

In November of 2018 it wasn’t that serious. And of course the fact that this info is available shows they did release it. Just nobody cared. The world is filled with noise. People fail to notice a lot of stuff, until suddenly they don’t.

A Canadian scientist has been arrested for smuggling 22 vials stolen from Canada’s National Microbiology Lab, used in Ebola and HIV research, into the United States, Canadian and US officials said Wednesday. Konan Michel Yao, 42, “was taken into custody” while crossing from Manitoba into North Dakota A Public Health Agency of Canada spokeswoman [said] Yao “was working on vaccines for the Ebola virus and HIV, among other things.” The Ivory Coast-born scientist is said to have studied at Laval University in Quebec and briefly worked at the University of Manitoba’s plant sciences department.
