If youre rich and famous, theres a much better chance that youll land an elusive COVID-19 test. If youre an average Joe, well, good luck.
Its the wild, wild West out there, Dr. Edward Goldberg, a Manhattan internist said. Theres very little unified messaging and when that happens, the rich and privileged jump the line. And the rules about testing keep changing and they differ state to state and country by country.
Everyone from Bravo host Andy Cohen, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Prince Charles, Prince Albert of Monaco, Placido Domingo, Debi Mazar, Jackson Browne, Idris Elba, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Kris Jenner, at least eight NBA teams and others have been tested even when asymptomatic.
Then again, fame doesnt guarantee a test. Heidi Klum reported that she was initially unable to get tested, then she did and tested negative. Comedian Kathy Griffin posted a selfie on Instagram from an isolation ward room after experiencing unbearably painful symptoms that she believes came from the virus. But she said she was unable to get tested and blamed the Trump administration.
New York City doctors have been told not to test patients unless they are seriously sick, partly because those in crisis need to be able to get their test results as fast as possible. Many doctors around the country just dont have enough test kits. Others, like a high-end doctor in Santa Monica, offered a limited number of kits to his VIP patients at $250 apiece.

Looks like testing is getting easier to do according to the CEOs during this evening’s White House press conference
My daughter had to have emergency surgery a few days ago, appendicitis. We asked them if she could have a COVID-19 test, they said no because she wasn't showing any symptoms.
Some lives are more equal than others.
Want to buy a new car?
There is a fabulous new movie out about a gay trans gender who overcame white racism to become a movie star.
Sorry Kathy, but they don’t test you if you’re just constipated.
Protocol in my Upstate NY neck of the woods is this: If you have symptoms AND have had contact with a person who has tested positive in the last 14 days, you can be tested.
Bet that is making for an interesting positivity rate.
And they are not being hospitalized when they test positive either.
Things that make you go “Hmmmnm....”

This is a scandal. This is Third World country stuff
Golly Gee, thank you NY Post (Mr. Obvious) Hasn’t this been apparent from the start? Welcome to the new America. We are all socialist’s now.
The funny thing about the rich and famous is they aren’t all that special when they’re all concentrated in one area and something like this happens. Especially the D-listers.
One of the things I hope to see in the Post-Coronavirus World, is entertainers being thought of as the Court Jesters that they used to be, instead of persons of importance.
“...when that happens, the rich and privileged jump the line. “
Yup, and they’ll do that more and more as the proles get forced into UK level “free health are”.
The rich are different than us. They have more money.
They need to develop more home tests, like they do for colon cancer and pregnancy.
Which is why so many folks want to get rich.
No matter what, it takes a doctor’s order. The rich and famous simply have doctors that do their bidding. It’s not the government’s fault, it’s the fault of their doctors.
And usually more "connections"
The rich and the wealthy have had an edge over everyone else since time began.
Quit whining, suck it up, and get rich if you want that edge.
Have you seen how they swab for this test? I don’t think I could do this myself.
. Its not the governments fault
Theres a shortage of tests. The government - CDC and FDA - share the blame
