For the past two days, New Yorkers have been dying at a rate of one every 17 minutes, according to the latest grim citywide statistics.
On both Thursday and Friday, another 84 people died in the city from the coronavirus, as the number of positive cases and of those who are critically ill also climbed.
The COVID-19 death toll in the city was 450 as of Friday evening, up from 366 reported fatalities in the morning.
Total citywide coronavirus cases rose to 26,697, up 4.4 percent from the 25,573 reported in the morning.
Mayor de Blasio warned Friday that critical resources to combat the outbreak in the countrys epicenter could run out by Sunday, April 5, as hospitals remain completely overwhelmed.

What's important is he states 'it is a battle' but 'it will be over at some point in the coming months'.
Trump has been crucified for making similar such comments.

U.S. COVID-19 DEATH RATE REMAINS LOW
That is because they are not using Hydrochloric wine as a standard treatment. No hospitals are
Keep saying just the flu and itll go away!
NYC, where they don’t differentiate between virus, flu, and other illnesses when reporting their numbers.
That number keeps showing up out here.
Beyond the trees.
Interdasting...
We don’t have a death “rate”. We have a death total.
Did the deceased ever smoke meth? What are the odds?
Series question. How many people are dying from the flu every day in NY?
What are the odds?
When does it become mathematically impossible?
What is the number of recoveries?
Well hey, maybe in a month or two we can take a look at that electoral college suggestion again! How’s it looking in California? /s
Lock down the pot-legal states - NY, CA, WA, OR.
Open up the rest of the country.
Question for the boss...
When does it become mathematically /inevitable/?
No, it has killed far fewer than the flu. (Not counting the economy of course)
That is over 2000 people a month. By the time you add to it the number of people killed by guns and smoking, it won’t be long before no one will be alive in New York City.
De Blasio simply has to deflect blame for this elsewhere.
His citizens expect government to “take care of them,” and he can’t do that. Even under the best of circumstances, it’s up to the medical profession to take care of sick people, but given de Blasio’s political and ideological proclivities, his prescriptions can only make things worse than they would be otherwise.
Add to that what I believe to be the “Katrina effect,” that of (what looks like) an attempt to sequester federally-provided resources in order to keep Donald Trump from receiving even the slightest credit for helping, and you have a toxic and deadly mixture.
How many people die in NYC every day? I’m guessing it’s close to 400, which is about one every 4 minutes.
Should we lock people in their houses so no one dies ever again?
“We dont have a death rate. We have a death total.”
Yep. Rate is so low it’s not worth noting.
Total will probably just crack 2,000 after today.
Serious or worse cases will probably crack 3,000 after today.
