Despite that, they originally went to Canada because they assumed that, as part of the British Commonwealth, they’d get free security, etc., if they lived there and Harry would enjoy certain tax advantages. And Mehgan had a semi-successful film career in the first place.
Unfortunately for them, the Canadian government wouldn’t play along. As such, no reason for them not to head to LA and the inevitable reality that awaits.
