Everything in communist countries is viewed the the lens of militarism. It’s the only model they can relate to.
I remember the Chinese Olympics (can I say that?), several years ago. The theme was ‘One World, One Dream’. Many thought that was a beautiful thought. I took it to mean something quite sinister. The whole World thinking as one. Everyone that disagrees is gone.
The appreciation many countries have shown for China’s assistance, among them some of the countries worst-hit by the virus, is testimony to that.
