mitch mcconnell on tv just now
senate passes emergency $2t relief bill 100-0
with some snarky reporters biting his ankles about pelosi's alleged lack of happiness
Hooray?
I guess?
Go to bed.
actually, in fairness to mitch and pelosi, i believe pelosi already capitulated and agreed to the senate version of the bill. (i could be wrong.)
I assume that they never fixed the part where people will get more in unemployment pay than they got paid in their jobs.
Problem is that the message is “Yes my lady, whatever you want my lady”
The non financial stuff is the stuff of nightmares. The ballot harvesting is the worst thing you can imagine, and its on page 815 to page 30 something with a special provision for this upcoming election special note on page 828:
(D) APPLICATION TO NOVEMBER 2020
7 GENERAL ELECTION.Because of the public
8 health emergency declared pursuant to section
9 319 of the Public Health Service Act (42
10 U.S.C. 247d) resulting from the COVID19
11 pandemic, the special rules set forth in this
12 paragraph shall apply with respect to the regu13
larly scheduled general election for Federal of14
fice held in November 2020 in each State.
i believe that this is the version of the bill that trump indicated he would sign earlier this evening in the WH daily covid-19 briefing. i’m sure it contains a lot of pork but hopefully nothing fatal. trump indicated he would not sign it if it contained certain liberal-favored things (jfk center, national endowment for the arts funding, etc. excluded). so, once it gets to this stage, the remainder should be anticlimactic at least to some degree (except maybe for a few snarky reporters who are apparently having trouble keeping up with the news, haha).
As long as nothing in it has to do with harvesting ballots and illegals voting I really dont give a damn!!!
Google is your friend
You again?
Can you read?
You should try it sometime.
Now we’ll see what the bitch and the rest of the Rats try and jam in there tomorrow in the congress.
> I assume that they never fixed the part where people will get more in unemployment pay than they got paid in their jobs.
I would also presume so... since I heard it complained about earlier this evening, framed as a possible need for a re-write and thus a partial reset of the process to pass the bill in the senate along with attendant procedural delays.
Can’t read 884 pages that fast.
Looks like it allows massive absentee votes to be delivered by persons other than the voter
Does anyone have the text of the Bill?
When the federal government spends a billion dollars, it costs you $10. When it spends a trillion dollars, it costs you $10,000.
When the federal government spends two trillion dollars, it costs you $20,000.
Ask yourself, would you write that check tonight if given the choice?
If the bill goes through, you have no choice.
Veto this catastrophe!
