“Don’t be so callous as to intentionally go to something and expose yourself to something that could kill other people,” Gov. Andy Beshear said.

A group of young adults recently held a “coronavirus party” in defiance of rules against large gatherings in Kentucky, and now at least one of them is infected with COVID-19, Gov. Andy Beshear said.

“A fair amount of this Wuhan Flu freak out appears to be virtue-signalling at this point.”

Thanks for that observation, FRiend.

So much of what goes on today — particularly in Hollywood and the news media — is best explained as virtue signaling by malignant narcissists.

“Oh, you’re concerned and worried, well I’m more concerned and worried than you are because I’m a better person! “

And there it is. A great part of this national freakout are Nanny-Staters wanting to tell us how to live our lives and how they care about us more than we do.

Yet he was a strong supporter of smallpox inoculations. However, the first successful smallpox vaccination was developed by Edward Jenner in 1796. Johnathan Edwards died in 1756. So that begs the question, did he really? 8>)

Granted he died of what was the best known vaccine at the time, but apparently it had issues that prompted further research.

“A group of young adults recently held a “coronavirus party””

sounds like a new craze might be underway, namely the “Youtube Coronavirus Challenge”

If one is infected because he or she caught it then there’s at least another one who had it and passed it.

I'll bet you were a wise guy in math class, too, huh?

We're not supposed to point things like that out in a martial law lockdown. People can get even more nervous.

You are supposed to read “and now at least one of them is infected with COVID-19” as if it means “and now at least one of them has died of COVID-19”, when in fact the case rate (how many infected) alone is about .05% per million, with an ill rate less than 15% of that, and a death rate of maybe 0.0075%.

The chances of one of the party goers catching the seasonal flu was likely the same.

“now at least one of them is infected”

Logically, wouldn’t that be “at least TWO” of them are infected”?

At least two, unless COVID-19 spontaneously creates where people gather.

That’s why the voting age should be raised to 25 and proof of voter has skin in the game. Owning property = paying state taxes....

The way you worded your posts makes this WuFlu freakout seem like the first cousin to global warming.

Virtue signaling.
Level of hysteria.
This is all overblown.
Don’t ask us to panic ... if you’re not going to give us the information.
I’m more worried because I’m a better person.
Not blindly submitting.

Interesting.

I live in Kentucky and I can tell you that our governor, Andy Beshear, is not even smart enough to be an idiot. Beshear’s just imposed more draconian measures on Kentuckians regarding the Chinese virus outbreak. I don’t know where/when this is going to end since there doesn’t seem to be any pushback from Beshear’s unconstitutional orders.

They do have pox parties (also flu, measles parties etc.). It’s a social activity where children are deliberately exposed to an infectious disease…..Flu parties are also sometimes done.

Who the hell in their right mind would have “Flu parties”. I get the chickenpox and measles parties of old, you know, before vaccinations, but “Flu parties?” The reason you have to get an annual flu shot is because there are numerous strains and mutated strains so unlike getting the chickenpox or measles or getting the vaccines for them - it’s not a one and done, get it once and you are very likely to have a lifetime immunity.

Do these parents who organize flu parties do it every year? Do they make sure that all the strains circulating at the time are present or do the hold separate flu parties for each strain?

I’ve never heard of anything so stupid in my life. Of course I also think than any parent now days who purposely exposes their child(ren) to a potentially deadly disease should be brought up on child abuse charges.

Did you read the line that said these are usually held by anti-vaccers? 8>)

They do not believe in vaccines. Sometimes perfectly normal kids die or have other issues after receiving the vaccine. So they do not inoculate for anything, apparently.

Oh, and they do come under legal jeopardy if something happens for not getting vaccinated.

Most schools require that children attending the school be vaccinated, and that the parent provides proof of those vaccinations.
