This is why you prep.
I’m still employed but my hours are now cut to..call you when needed!
It’s very hard, but not desperate enough to file yet!
Waiting it out.
We pay through the nose, lose every appeal (ie: you did not say it was not okay to pass out on the job for hours). We asked our nonessential employees to file so we could get them back. That’s good. My son applied for his not work study job at Mass state school (he is an ARA) and first response from school is $0. I love the hypocrisy (not). He will likely get nothing while the rest of us pay in.
You may as well file to get that first no pay week out of the way. And with things taking awhile, best to get started.
It’ll help you conserve your funds too.
Don’t wait until your out of funds to try to work thru the lengthy unemployment insurance process. That will only add stress to your situation.
If you do it online, you may avoid the long call center lines.
OK governor just issued a state-wide house arrest until April 21st and my employer laid everyone off today. Extended vacation! I'm a 1099 contract, so no unemployment either. Time to party like it's 1929!
America is on a slippery slope. Losing civility may eventually come.
“you may avoid the long call center lines”
My sister, in Michigan, was unable to get thru online. Her job went bye-bye Monday.
Thanks very much.
If she files Thursday or Friday, she may be able to get thru and it will still count for the week.
Most people do their unemployment stuff on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Im sorry to hear she lost her job.
You will get unemployment even if you are a 1099, this package has been extended to contractors, freelancers, self employed persons I believe you will receive 600.00 a week so file and do it now!!!
Filed about 20 minutes after getting the notice. Still says zero eligibility, so I guess it is wait and see.
