National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that he wishes the media would "stop pitting" his advisements about the coronavirus against those of President Trump, encouraging people to "look ahead at the challenge we have together."
During an interview with Fauci — a leader on the White House Coronavirus Task Force — the host of the Morning on The Mall Podcast, Vince Coglianese, asked if the doctor thinks the media is attempting to emphasize differences of opinions between himself and President Trump.
"That is really unfortunate — I would wish that would stop because we have a much bigger problem here than trying to point out differences," Fauci said. "There really fundamentally at the core ... are not differences."
Fauci reassured listeners and the host that Trump does listen to his expertise and opinions of other officials on the task force.
"The president has listened to what I have said and what the other people on the task force have said. When I have made recommendations he has taken them," Fauci added. "The idea of just pitting one against the other is just not helpful."

I get your point; but why should anyone allow his big mouth to make it easy for Democrats to concoct a talking point?
It’s what they do, doctor. They are deliberately and intentionally trying to produce a division between you and Trump so they can have millions of people die and blame it on Trump.
I really question his response at the podium on the malaria drug. A flat NO on its promise, saying reports were only “anecdotal”. Instead of acknowledging that doctors are reporting encouraging results, while systematic tests await
The media is clueless. After 3+ years they still don’t understand that having arguments, disagreements and even “fights” doesn’t mean Trump can’t work with someone. To the contrary, in many cases, that brings the best out in people.
It would be funny if this red pills the doctor....
You should see the AP headline they came up with based on this same interview: “Fauci says he can’t stop Trump from speaking at press briefings.”
Then act like a team player and stop making faces of disgust when the president is talking ! You take away from the message by your little acts!

How do you know that doing those interviews isn’t something assigned to him by the task force?
