My husband and I are Gen X. Our kids are millenials and Gen Z. We’ve locked ourselves in our home(s) since Sat and only go out on foot to walk the dog for an hour. That’s it.
Meanwhile, our boomer parents—all 4 of them!—keep going out shopping for groceries and Home Depot! Daily! Arrghh. We are in CA and the National Guard is now being mobilized to protect the Boomers from themselves.
The “Boomer Remover” virus will indeed remove them at this rate—I’m exasperated. They will not accept deliveries or attempt online shopping.
This is, in part, a response to the Congress. After 15 days I’m not going to be telling people to stay home so maybe we don’t need that bill after all. Trump will walk away having proposed sending every family of 4 $3000 and the Congress wasn’t willing. Let’s discuss this fact for the next several months.
We sure hope it’s possible to end this shutdown ! It’s destroying America far more than did world war 2. And much faster too. Soon there will be major violence as people cannot tolerate this “jail yourself at home” business. It’s getting scary as hell.

A shutdown is much easier when the fed is willing to pay all of your residents. Let’s see how that plays without the backing of POTUS and trillions from Washington.
I am in absolute agreement. 15 days, and lets end this self-inflicted economic shutdown. We are teetering on the edge of triggering a Great Depression redux.
Sounds like a nasty flu that can cause some to get pneumonia - but you can't destroy the Nation by trying to prevent anyone from getting sick. Good practices emphasized - wash your hands frequently, don't cough into the air, ground yourself if you are feeling sick, etc - and hopefully learned. And start cranking on the drugs and medical equipment.

A much needed tweak - especially with comments from people like Governor Cuomo stating that this shutdown could go on for 9 months. And with comments from the Media cheering on our Recession, and continuing to root for the destruction of America.

Where will public sentiment in regards to restrictions and physical distancing go, if the disease makes itself visible to all as an obvious horror in another week? The answer is obvious.

Trump is probably starting to listen to the economists screaming economic doom. Even people on the federal reserve are throwing out dire economic numbers if this shutdown continues. Conditions that would be worse than the Great Depression.
Then on top of that, Congress is deadlocked on a stimulus package. So businesses aren’t getting any help from them.
So he’s got to do something. We can’t just sit here locked in our homes month after month as the country falls apart.

Wow! I know older people who were commanded by their kids to stay home, no church even last Sunday and the seniors obeyed.
This Boomer and her husband will be staying home starting tomorrow per the state mandates of Michigan and Ohio. Ohio is more strict than MI. I am not even going to get near my siblings, young nephew & nieces.
I remember that. It was two prefixes, Phen-fen as I recall. The Phen may have been phencyclidine? (fuzzy memory) I don’t remember what the Fen one was. Also wasn’t aware of the enlarged heart and more. No wonder that fad fell off the radar.
