*NOPE = Never Obtain the Presidency, Ever
I’m so glad you brought this one up. It’s obamas wuflu. Through incredible incompetence Obama did nothing. The press didn’t cover it and as luck would have it he got through it with few if any economic losses. Deaths were high and lots were hospitalized but it came and went and without the media covering it 24/7 most people didn’t even know it happened.
Fauci was on Levin's show tonight for a half hour. He seemed quite reasonable, to me. He gave high praise to Trump for the prescient China travel ban where all the liberals were denigrating the ban.
The only negative thing I saw was Fauci's work record. He's been nothing but a bureaucrat his whole life, apparently never working as a real doctor.
Fauci knew what had to be done after the 2009 H1N1 Pandemic. 7 years of the Obama Administration knowing what had to be done, and nothing got done.
The only part of Roberts’ show I saw was the panel and I give him an absolute zero for that. With all the important stuff going on, the only thing he led the questioning on was reasons to hate President Trump. In the last 5 seconds he asked the medical doctor a medical question, and gave him only seconds to answer. In those 5 seconds the doctor praised the Trump action, surprising Roberts.
Worse than that, they actually prevented other ways of doing it. When Washington State gave up on the CDC after the CDC failed to get them test kits that worked, they started doing it on their own. The CDC then ordered them to stop testing, even though they had no alternative. That added to the problems the state is now having.
The country that has tested the most is Korea which has tested over a million and finding a death rate of under 1/2% which is slightly higher than normal flu.
And South Korea did not interfere with capitalism either.
And South Korea did not interfere with capitalism either.
This may very well be Trump's exit strategy after the 15 day period. Now that testing capabilities have become the best in the world in terms of quality and throughput, Trump can get Americans back to work by saying we now have the ability to identify quickly who has the virus and rely on individual quarantines rather than mass lockdowns/shelter in place. We can take stricter measures to protect the elderly and those with immune deficiencies.
And add the very real possibility of finding a therapeutic to combat the virus in the infected. The six day trial that starts tomorrow in NYC will be critical in the decision process at the end of this 15 day period.
China is already back to work. Singapore and Hong Kong are also returning to normal.
CDC did not perform well. Major reforms need to be made and they must be held accountable. The US was ill-prepared for a pandemic not only in terms of material assets, but also, in the regulatory and planning realms. CDC should have been more proactive early on when the virus was first detected in China.
