That old Walter Mitty thing doesn't stop for Joe Biden.
He was there as vice president at the Parkland shooting. He was shot at in Iraq. He was a coal miner. His chopper was shot down by bin Laden himself over Afghanistan. Always the irrelevant placeholder, dating at least from his Obama years when he had to beg Obama to quit making fun of him, the former vice president and now Democratic frontrunner has now decided to conduct pretend-presidential briefings on the coronavirus crisis to upstage President Trump.
According to Fox News:
The all-but-certain Democratic presidential nominee – in a conference call with political reporters – also said that as early as Monday he hopes to be holding near-daily briefings regarding the pandemic that’s swept across the nation, which could serve as a political counterbalance to the daily briefings the president and government officials have been giving the past week from the White House.“I want to be in daily or least in significant contact with the American people and communicate what I would be doing, what I think we should be doing, and how we should be doing it,” Biden emphasized.
“Hopefully by Monday we’re going to be in a very different place in terms of the ability to be in communications with all of you,” Biden explained.
That's all fine and dandy for persuading a skeptical electorate that, despite his handsiness, his mental lapses, and his gaffes, that he really is a presidential type.

Side note, notice on every CNN\MSNBC peice they end with "Did you think the Chinese adjective for the virus is hurting Trump". I heard 3 times today, the echo chamber, it's like one of those 4chan taunts. Like 27 year old gamer dorks living in Mom's basement, saying thing juvenile to provoke a strong reaction. Like the kid who got a 1600 SAT and flunked out of Harvard and now works at Papa Johns because he "Wants to and does not feel strapped to any paradigm about being a mature responsible man". When actually he is just a stoner lazy loser with parents who pat him on the head for winning that 9th place soccer trophy 15 years ago. They are doing it in every press conference now. Trump needs to be the adult and say in the press conference..."If you ask me about how I desribe the virus one more time, you will be removed from the press pool and not allowed back in the people's house." nominates Hiliary for Vice President. At the swearing-in the 25th admentment will take Joe in retirement. Presto! Hilary

Thos virus has completely overshadowed Biden which is why he's desperate to keep himself visible and relevant in some way (also why Hillary keeps piping in). Conversely, the more people see Trump, the better. He's not allowing the media to run away with the show and the general public are more apt to tune into his virus updates than his rallies. So long as this has a good outcome and is reasonably managed along the way, he'll.come out okay.
Putting him anywhere with anyone in any situation is dangerous to them.
Can’t wait for his Monday briefing. I and lots of other Americans could really use some comedy in these stressful times
