WASHINGTON — Senator Richard M. Burr sold hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of stock in major companies last month, as President Trump and others in his party were still playing down the threat presented by the coronavirus outbreak and before the stock market’s precipitous plunge.
The stocks were sold in mid-February, days after Mr. Burr, Republican of North Carolina and the chairman of the Intelligence Committee, wrote an opinion piece for Fox News suggesting that the United States was “better prepared than ever before” to confront the virus.
Two weeks after the sales, Mr. Burr spoke at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington to a nonpartisan group called the Tar Heel Club, warning that the virus could soon cause a major disruption in the United States.
The gathering, which drew fewer than 100 people, included representatives from the North Carolina governor’s office, as well as staff members from other congressional offices in the state.
“There’s one thing that I can tell you about this — it is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything we have seen in recent history,” Mr. Burr said, according to a recording obtained by NPR, which reported on his remarks on Thursday. “It’s probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic.”

I don't think it's the government's business what we do with our money.
If someone "inside" trades a stock, that's honest information being transmitted to the world. I don't see why we should prevent them from showing their hand. If we want information about the market, all we need to do is watch their hands.
I’m fine with him swinging from a rope. He seemed to know this was much more serious than he let on when he sold all that stock. Hope the Senate will bother to expel him, but they probably won’t.

Not what this is about— this is Demo Deep State and obamaumao holdovers at FBI counterintel trying to pressure Burr...through their mouthpiece the NYTs (remember for see eeeye ehhhh it’s the WaPo, owned by them through Bezos).
Problem for them is, DOJ is no doubt offering for him to spill the beans on the “star” of Senate Intel who was weaseling Burr around (Burr ain’t too bright)... namely Sen.Warner (tag teaming with Schiff, his counterpart at House Intel) on the “coup” and the Dossier. We have to go back and read about that.
So, I’d say from his snivelling cur posture, Burr will spill and roll over and keep his seat no re-elect in 2022. And also step down as Chair of Senate Intel given repubs keep the Senate. More pro trump people, and certainly not Romney. Not on Intel.
Might it be related to projections based on this video that compares COVID19 with OTHER pandemics. The beauty of the video is that rather than comparing numbers blindly (eg comparing total deaths from, say, Swine flu, which ended, versus COVID19, which is still ongoing and thus the numbers are still relatively low), the video instead starts ALL of the pandemics on the same date (rebases them) and then sees how they progress.
COVID19 really does appear to be a wild fire when you look at it from that angle, which may be why many governments around the world are committing political and economic suicide. Anyway, please see the video below:
