CNBC is reporting 19% of total cases identified (1,700 in NY state, low #, lack of gen. pop. testing) are being hospitalized...at this point you aren’t being hospitalized unless your are “serious” or worse. 19% is very high compared to other areas/countries...I have seen numbers like “8% serious/hospitalized” on average in other countries.
The SWAMP has outsourced our health to China. It is outrageous.
Our recent Government, NOT Trump, has failed us.
Are they being quarantined in the hospital ?
Worse, of the 3,000 - 2,700 are occupied!
You’re absolutely right. What is so disconcerting is the people on this forum advocating for all the draconian (unconstitutional)measures that the ‘governments’ of the land are imposing.
I do not recognize FR or my fellow (so-called) Americans. It’s disgusting.
Exactly. Hysteria is ramped up to 11.
I was talking with a friend about that the other day. Seems like critical mass might be around June sometime.
We could potentially have large scale quarantines, especially here in Florida, where we have a bunch of teenagers and such from all over everywhere do all sorts of virus spreading stuff on the beach.
And then comes a Category 5.
And then, if course, one has to wonder if a hurricane can push viral matter around...
I need an adult beverage.
Thanks, China. Dicks.
The entire state of new york only has 53,000 hospital beds?
Seems not a right number for a larger population state.
Or were they actually saying NYCity, not the entire state?
The lower number is the cases in NYC. The higher number is for the entire state of New York.
I agree and disgusting is a very appropriate word for what we are witnessing.
We need to buck up, remember who we are and where we come from. Americans are not ones to just roll over, whether it be an enemy or a virus.
17000 Americans died of disease alone during the revolutionary war, another 6800 in combat. And we are pissing away everything they fought for over this?! Inconceivable!
“No one is saying its just the flu bro. Theyre saying its not Armageddon and the flu is killing more people.”
This thread is proof that the “not as deadly as the flu” argument was pointless. It didn’t have to be.
Haha glad you picked up on the overreaction to the overreaction. Well played!
Just shows they have no idea what they are doing.
It didnt have to be to, what, exactly? Justify draconian measures not seen in this country for the past hundred years? Triggering a depression that might rival 1929? What exactly?
i think NY State, i mean not to bash anyone it is for profit and to keep high level of care its expensive
i mean i have about 10,000 worth of surgerys i should be doing but i dont go
anyway
high level of care will never be available to all people
we can have cuba care or
here is more for fun

TodayNew York has lost a staggering 20,000 hospital beds over the last two decades to budget cuts and insurance overhauls, complicating local and state efforts to battle the coronavirus.
“MinorityRepublican
Just a speculation; they have the beds now. They need to get experience with the first in to get protocols worked out. They can afford to give more of these first patients care to get them well before prioritization becomes more critical. The experience will help them learn who to prioritize.
Or not.”
That is probably it.
What the ‘hair on fire’ people have been afraid of all along.
It doesn’t matter how many people get this with no symptoms or just a sniffle or two.
it only matters how many get it and need an ICU bed for 2 or 3 weeks to recover.
Because once you run out of ICU beds...
They have more than 3,000 beds, doofus
realize every is excited but dont get upset at messenger:
i ha
New York only has 3,000 ICU beds and Gov. Cuomo says coronavirus patients may end up “on gurneys in hallways”
At least a part of it. This is brand new so everyone is learning from the first wave. After that it’s sink or swim until this passes its peak.
Not just word of mouth, this was published (and has continued to be published) in medical journals which have been posted on the daily threads since early Feb. The way the virus is behaving has not really changed that much from Wuhan to Italy to New York, it is the hospitals capacity to handle it that makes or breaks it.
