A little-noticed letter from special counsel Robert Mueller's office divulges Obama DOJ concerns about FBI treatment of ex-Trump national security adviser.
Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and other senior Obama-era Justice Department officials told the Russia special prosecutor in private interviews they had concerns about the FBI’s conduct in investigating former Trump National Security Adviser Mike Flynn, according to memos that paint a dark portrait of the bureau’s behavior.
The documents, which include a letter from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team transmitting exculpatory evidence to Flynn’s defense lawyers in 2018, offer the most detailed montage to date about why Attorney General Bill Barr recently appointed a special prosecutor to review the government’s actions in the Flynn case.
Among other things, the correspondence shows:
Mueller’s team accepted Flynn’s guilty plea on a charge of lying about his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak even though agents told DOJ they thought the former general was not lying and simply had a faulty memory. DOJ officials believed the threat the FBI was using to prosecute Flynn under an obscure law known as the Logan Act was a “stretch.” Flynn was lured by the FBI into a fateful interview with agents believing he was not in legal jeopardy, which caused him not to seek a lawyer. Some of the DOJ officials’ assessments to the Mueller team were backed up by former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe. The documents add credence to the arguments Flynn’s new lawyer, Sidney Powell, is making that the former national security adviser was coerced into making his 2018 guilty plea and should be allowed to withdraw it.

The agents said Flynn didn't exhibit obvious signs of lying, which they had been trained to recognize.
At the time of the interview they knew about the content of the call with Kislyak and knew Flynn was lying.

Keep in mind Susan Rice’s “memo to herself” on Trump’s inauguration day.
They needed a way to justify giving out false information by concocting a faked-up counter-intel operation where is is permissible for the govt to lie.
A top secret meeting of her Lts. and Comey’s in Dec. got the conspirators on the same page. Apparently, the drumbeat would start in an interview Obama gave soon after about Russia, Russia. Followed up by Hints that Sessions would be their desired AG, then Rosenstein his Lt. Then Hillary's former campaign brain trust sent AG Lynch a very detailed long specific letter on appointing a Special Counsel to investigate Russia, Russia. Cute that protege of Ugly John Pedestal, Neera Tannin, wrote that along with the whole brain trust.
I am beginning to actually believe that Obama set Hillary up to fail. They represent two competing Chicago gangs. Both ruthless, cynical, diabolical against enemies. Both utterly incompetent at running a real honest government or business. Either disasters for this country. But the Clintons are through. Obamas only just getting started. Whether Michelle gets in the game, as I've predicted for 4 years or Holder, this gang is the real future of Democrat (socialism).
Flynn was the insurance policy if Trump got elected. They figured no one is honest and scoffed when Strozk and Pientka said Flynn didn't show any sign of deception. So they fudged the 302 creating a lie and concocted a FARA violation which wasn't true. And when he was bankrupted they put the squeeze on Flynn, “tell us any dirt you have on Trump”! It's all in Sidney Powell's Court Briefings. When Flynn had no dirt, they threatened to prosecute his son and give his wife “the Manafort Treatment” raiding their house and searching her in her bed like they did to Roger Stone's deaf wife.
That is the level of depravity our great America has at the top. I do not see a turning back from it. Half the public is incapable of Objectivity any longer. And all believe in Big Government. The inevitable result is only in which gang runs it. Ivanka, a businesslike one with good manners who likes Euro Soft Socialism or The Obama Gang who are nasty fascists and nihilists with nice teeth and untouchable skin color.
From Yates, Obama, Jarrett, Comey, Brennan, Rice to a silenced, bankrupted Flynn and a fearless President whose soft heart will open the door to bigger government, printing fiat money, just to save everybody from suffering the consequences of cheap Chinese goods and their own indifferent lifestyles. He shouldn't save us but allow us to fail and find the strength within, if each of us can, to “stoop and build ‘em up with worn out tools, and never breathe a word about our loss...” If by Kipling.

Keep in mind...falsifying official documents is the preferred criminal method to cover-up larger crimes.
Passing copies of false documents as authentic can also involve forgery and other instances of serious criminality.
Falsifying documents is usually done in connection with broader criminal aims, such as:

Falsifying documents is a very serious offense and is generally classified as a felony. This means that a person charged with falsifying documents may be subject to the following legal penalties:Having to pay a monetary fine and incarceration in a prison facility
Depending on the gravity of the offense, as well as individual state laws, falsifying documents can result in a prison sentence of 5-10 years.
Also, if government documents or govt authorities were involved, the legal penalties may be more severe. Legal penalties may increase with repeat offenses.
The penalty for falsifying government documents is outlined in the Crimes Act of 1958.
