President Trump on Monday urged Americans to avoid traveling and gathering in public spaces in an effort to blunt the spread of the coronavirus.
"If everyone makes this change, or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus," Trump said in the White House briefing room. "We're going to have a big celebration all together."

Well, it still ongoing in China, but they got through the “surge” part. It probably could be handled in the same amount of time here, but we can’t do the extreme measures China did in dealing with it’s people or things like building 16 large temporary hospitals in a few weeks time.
That could mean that they believe that just less than 10% of people are infected.

The left will stockpile the virus. Say that Trump is celebrating too soon when this lifts. Then they will re-release the virus. They already tried to overthrow the government. Twice. Put nothing past them.

Our area just finished Spring Break.
All of those families traveled all across the USA....gathering/spreading virus.
A friend who went skiing in Park City has received calls (contact tracing) that a hotel employee has tested positive.
Their family is now self-isoloating. :(
Yeah, well, I hope the only thing we lose people to is “a summer love”! I’ve had a few of those, good memories!
China likely had active cases in August or September whether they knew it or not.
In December, the announced that the virus was making people sick and also that they had identified the virus to be “novel”. In order for them to know that, they would have had to type the RNA sequence of the virus. That is not a simple thing to do and it takes time. Therefore, they were studying this before they made the announcement in December.
Imagine how many people passed through China between late August and December 2019? If we back date until then and now we’re seeing things under control in China, that’s 7 months so far in total with about 5-6 months of really bad stuff.
The question is, how much did our precautions upfront help? How much will the difference make in the density of the populations? If we’re 3-4 months, that will take us to the end of June.
However, another important variable is the time of year. Viruses usually die out by May so the weather warming should help.
We’re all deciding how to suffer and sacrifice during Lent.

I’d skip any place where you have a bunch of people stuffed together in close quarters. For a month - and then see how things look at the time. Let the church/pastor know it isn’t anything personal or spiritual, it’s just taking care of business.
