The mayor of Champaign, Illinois, gave herself the power to ban the sale of guns and alcohol after declaring a citywide emergency to address the coronavirus.
Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen signed the executive order on Thursday declaring a state of emergency for the city. That executive order, which is in line with municipal code, comes with extraordinary powers for the mayor to enact over a short period of time as the city combats the spread of the coronavirus.

Those in Chicago never miss an opportunity to use any little problem like this to their advantages. Why, next step is to make an order not allowing any Republicans to gather for the intent to vote on election day, might cause an outbreak of the virus. Dudden matter anyway, everyone in that rat’s nest vote for the commies anyway. Minnesota, the west coast, NY and the entire eastern seaboard all vote commie anyway. They love to run their mouths about people’s freedoms and they are the ones who are taking away those freedoms. Freedoms are only for those who are in the ruling positions. This is what is coming. Little by little they will start taking away those God given freedoms. It simply amazes me how many Americans will give away their freedoms for free handouts, stuff. Just give us stuff and we are happy. The children listen to their great big grown ups who are making all the decisions.

The Mayor of Champaign, Illinois and the Governor of Illinois appear to have acted in excess of their authority inasmuch as their dictatorial decrees seem to be in excess of Illinois law. Closing and quarantine orders are subject to judicial review and the persons affected are entitled to due process.

The Tsarists seem to have completely bypassed these laws. These actions need to be the subject of a court hearings.
