Five minutes outside the city limits would be an entirely different story. Southern IL is solid red, my friend. Those rednecks down there would roll over that town in about 20 minutes.

It is unfortunate that the government has time on their hands as they can hold out longer than the people that work with sales money still to be realized while the business of government is supported by taxpayer money they already have. All they have to do to maintain their control is borrow from funds that really had no other purpose except to be borrowed from when they were created under the radar. Part of that cash was the funds that Bush W raided and gave back during his administration.
But during the Obama years those hidden funds are partially back with new ones hidden right in plain sight. This is one of the reasons the deficit was doubled during those years.

JM: Let me go back to something you touched on at the top of that list. That’s gun violence in Champaign and Urbana, which would certainly hasn’t gone away. Do you do you feel the city is doing a good job of addressing this? And what more would you want the city to do?
Feinen: I always like to remind everybody that we live in a safe community. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t take seriously the gun violence issues. And certainly it is something that as a council, is a number one priority. But, it is certainly not solved. But if you look at the data relating to programs like C-U Fresh Start, it takes many years. We’re in like Year Two And A Half of the program. So we’re not going to see immediate change. We’re trying to change people over time. And we also really need to dig in to work with the (Champaign Unit Four) school district and work with many of our nonprofit agencies relating to young kids. What are we going to do to make their lives better, their family lives better? It’s economic development. It’s making sure people are trained. But it’s also reaching out. We need to be funding programs with the school district that make a difference in kids’ lives. We need to be paying service providers that we asked to get involved and work with kids in the schools. And we need to take this seriously, because the gun violence will impact on everything else that we want to do at the city.
I remember another interview where the interviewer described her as “pretty progressive for a Republican.”

Champaign-Urbana is University of Illinois, which (remarkably) has lost status in recent years to its upstate stepchild University of Illinois at Chicago.
SIU (Southern Illinois University) is in Carbondale. They’ve actually done a lot to shed their party-school image in favor of scholarship.

Just a few Anti-arkanicide carefully selected , strategically applied, exemplary, anonymous hits like those perpetrated on Seth Rich and Lt. Quarles Harris Jr. and the problem disappears.
Its worth it to go to war against fascist autocrats , if for no other reason, just to be free.

Sad it gets there because like the war on Islam, it never seems to stop. You take out the head of one snake, another head appears.
A couple of years ago no one had ever heard of Adam Schiff, or knew nothing about James Comey or Robert Mueller. And the attack dogs of the committe: Hakeem Jeffries, Sylvia Garcia, Jerry Nadler, Val Demings, Zoe Lofgren, and Jason Crow were something on a ballot no one saw except they were liberal and needed an “X.” And you never saw most of them for a good reason: they were nothing but figure heads to vote the way Pelosi wanted. It’s a merry-go-round with the faces changing each time around. And no one gets the ring.

During this crisis we have to be vigilant for letist commie over reach. Its already happening at the municipal level where little tin pot dictators seek to ban the sale of ammo, guns, alcohol and a good old fashion roll in the hay at a local hotel. (All in derogation of the duty of individuals to make these choices for themselves.)
We give away liberty using the crisis for an excuse, it will be hard to get it back after. So we need to be vocal about some of these left “pronouncements” and “orders” over-reach while staying the course in this fight against the virus.
