President Donald Trump announced that Sunday would be a National Day of Prayer on Friday, not long after he officially declared a state of emergency over the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
After declaring a national emergency, Trump took to Twitter to announce his "great honor" in declaring that a National Day of Prayer would be taking place two days later. An annual National Day of Prayer normally takes place on the first Thursday of May, which falls on May 7 this year, although Trump has previously given other days the designation during emergencies.
"It is my great honor to declare Sunday, March 15th as a National Day of Prayer. We are a Country that, throughout our history, has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these," Trump tweeted. "No matter where you may be, I encourage you to turn towards prayer in an act of faith. Together, we will easily PREVAIL!"

Hallelujah. We were look for this spirit in The National Emergency declaration, and the many press conferences, but never he spoke it. So finally. Amen.
I think that’s a great idea.
I will join the president in prayer this Sunday.
This will trigger some lefties.
A reminder of the fact the United States was/is a Christian nation.
Declarations of days of prayer and fasting or prayer and thanksgiving are one of the inherent powers of the President and Governors from the beginning of the nation and before.
Good plan.
This will make lefty heads explode and is a direction we need to take.
Indeed. Anyone who has ever read the Old Testament is well aware of this.
Unfortunately, I have known very many Christians who have only read the New Testament. They consider everything that came before it irrelevant.
And, of course, there is the unfortunate fact, that a great many have never read either.
Nonetheless, your statement is indeed true and those of us who have read the Old Testament are well aware of this fact.
So sad the nation wasnt looking to God BEFORE times like these.

I think it was a disservice not to have seen this before 2016.
On Friday, not long after he officially declared a state of emergency over the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, President Donald Trump announced that Sunday would be a National Day of Prayer.

Prayer Day is Pi Day!
Haha, it’s already past midnight. I get so confused at the clocks.
Where’s Emily Litella?!
Happy Pi Day, today!
Prayer Day (Sun) will be 3.15, not Pi Day.
Except maybe for large values of Pi.
I like large values of Pi :-)
We can pray for the nation, and then pray for pi, that there will leftovers of pi.
Beware the pies of March.
Well I didn’t indend to make light of Prayer Day, I only thought at first that it was cool that “Pi” is for Prayer Day, but then it all went horribly wrong!
Nah, it's fine.
And not "all" -- prayer never goes wrong. My Mom taught me that, and she's 95 and knows.
She also taught me that all prayers are answered, but not all the answers are what we want or expect.
My wife is very ill, multiple myeloma (bone cancer), diabetes, and respiratory troubles. She's 64. If she gets this virus it could easily kill her.
So today, and for a while to come, I'm praying for safety and healing for her, and for strength and peace of mind for myself as I care for her.
And I pray for our Beloved Country to come through this difficult passage.
Oh, right, and I pray for Pi. Large values of Pi. :-)
Thanks for posting this!
“If my people, who are called by My name...”
This is a good move by Trump.
Will Joe Biden will tell us to ask, you know, the thing.
Im reading it now. Im s called The Bible in a Year
You must approach Christ through the Old Testament, I really believe this.
Your lovely wife needs to stay in the house, as much as possible. I will pray for her, and also pray that you get some pi(e).
Just love that Trump is doing this!
