I find that hard to believe. You’re paying $1.79 and I’m paying $2.50 per gallon in NY State. How does that jive? My youngest son lives in Indiana, and when I’ve visited him, the gas prices have always been lower there than in New York State.
I was pleasantly surprised to see gas priced that low when I pulled in to fill up-I always fill up at that station, and last Thursday it was $2.17 per gal...
I was born in ‘52 and had both the Salk and Sabin. I was probably too young to remember the Salk (cause I don’t) but I kindly remember the Sabin.
It was held in a large civic building in Doraville, Ga. and it was a cube of sugar. I wanted two!
Most of our refined fuels come from BP Whiting which on Lake Michigan near Chicago.
I just checked and between Federal Excise tax of .08 cents a gal, and State tax of .17+ cents a gallon, the rate now is 25 cents tax a gallon on gas. It’s 23 cents on diesel fuel.
Small neighbor Hood store down the street has everything. The beer is very cold there to!
Busing rules in the 50’s where I lived (Northern NJ in Bergen County) were you needed to live 2 miles or more from the school you were attending. I lived 1.9 miles from the High School so I was on my own. Walked to school and back every day except when it was raining or snowing.
I hitch hiked mostly back then and never had a problem. It wasn’t frowned on and I almost always caught a ride.
Ahhh the 50’s, great times.
Joanna Lumley is awesome. She’s done some good travel series for British tv. She’s got one going now titled: “Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean: Havana to Haiti.” She’s previously done programs on Siberia, Egypt, Greece, etc. I’d watch her latest, but I don’t have any interest in Cuba or Haiti.
Agreed. Just said some extra prayers for him.
God bless you, Mr. President.
We didn’t have a car, so the only way we got around was by foot, by bus, or by begging a ride from a neighbor. Our high school was over a mile away, so we hoofed it every day. No big deal. I lived in Rochester, NY, and I don’t believe anybody got bussed back in those days. It might have been happening in the suburbs, but not in the city. You went to the high schools that were in your district. For me there were only two, Madison and Jefferson. I went to Madison because that’s where my two sisters had gone.
Yes we all have. You did not notice when the influenzas came around, and around again.
You are an idiot.
You might want to do it 3 or 4 times a day since animals our size that DO make their own Vitamin C produce 2000 to 4000 mg. per day. I take 3 to 6 grams a day depending whether my allergies are being triggered—tobacco smoke, house dust, cool weather molds, ragweed. Good health to you.
New York state gasoline tax is pushing 50 cents a gallon. Add other state taxes and there's your answer.
Nope...their neighbor to the north.
Couldn’t agree more!
Regarding President Trump and COVID-19:
The best available, recent research shows that the "The median incubation period was estimated to be 5.1 days (95% CI, 4.5 to 5.8 days), and 97.5% of those who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days (CI, 8.2 to 15.6 days) of infection."

When did President Trump meet with these people? Last Saturday? He's at 6 days now.
$3.15 for me last night at Costco, and that seemed cheap to me. Welcome to California!
Bet the Miami media harpies missed this one too...
