The best explanation I have seen is that the virus in Italy in a mutation that attacks the(apparently) high number of Asians in the region with a strong infection. Some others have said that Italian medicine is not up to the task.

So I guess it varies. In central NH this morning, my local supermarket was out of TP, hand sanitizer, most kinds of disinfectant and most of the meat in the meat section was out. I talked with the store manager and he said supplies have arrived consistently, but those items sell out quickly.
